Project title:

“Solid state fermentation of Agro-Waste for industrial Lipase Enzyme production”

Description:

• Collection of wastes-Ground nut Waste, Niger seeds, safflower, Corn waste

• Screening the culture (P. aeruginosa) for the production of lipase.

• Optimization of parameters and pilot production of lipase by SSF method.

• Optimization of various parameters will be like:

• Effect of incubation period: Incubation will be tested for 24hr, 48hr and 72hr.

• Effect of moisture level: The (w/v) ratio of 1:1.0; 1:2.0; 1:3.0; 1:4.0 will be tested

• Effect of temperature: Tests at different temperatures of 30 C, 45 C, 55 C

• Effect of pH: Tests at different pH from 5.0 to 10.0.

• Estimation of protein will be carried out by Bradford method.

• Purification of the enzyme by Ammonium Sulphate precipitation, Column chromatography, Dialysis

• High volumetric productivity by solid state fermenter.

• Less effluent generation, Energy efficiency.

• Simple fermentation equipment..

• Very cheap and cost efficient due to reliance on cheap agro waste.

Applications:

• Lipase used in making of fine chemicals and agrochemicals, cosmetics, perfumery products.

Lipases are extensively used in the dairy industry for the hydrolysis of milk fat and in soft cheese production. Used in Detergent Industry, Flavor industry, Used as biosensor, Biocatalyst resolution of pharmaceuticals.

Secured 2nd place in Dancing in “VIBRATIONS-10”.

Secured 2nd place in Running(100,200) in “VIBRATIONS-10”.

Secured 1st place in Department level “TABLE TENNIS “ during 2008-09.

Was Participated in Singing in “YOUTH FEST’ Held at Mahaveera jain college of engineering,

Bangalore.

Participated in Skit in “YOUTH FEST’ Held at Dayananda Sagar college of engineering, Bangalore.

Participated in “ATHLETICS” (Running 200,400,Relay) held at SDM CET college of Engineering,

Dharwad.

Secured Consolation Prize in State level Athletics-Running held at Belgaum in 2003.

Presented a Poster in National level fest on “MUSHROOM CULTIVATION IN INDIA” held at BVB Hubli.

Grabbed 3rd Rank in 10th std for my academic performance in our school.

Grabbed the prize for Highest score in Mathematics & kannada in 10th std in our school.

Secured Championship in Sports & Best Girl Prize in 7th std.

My Project-“Solid state Fermentation of Agro-Waste for industrial Lipase production” selected for KSCST (Govt Sanctioned the money).

LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES:

• Worked as “ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE MEMBER” of BT department. .

• Was KHO-KHO team captain in school days for 6 years.

School Captain and Sports Captain for the year 2003-04,successfully completed both roles effectively.

Organized the Singing competition in Hostel & Rangoli competition in “VIBRATIONS”.

Was Volunteer in College National level Tech fest “STROBES”.
