I was on the rolls of SCTL as Manager SAP. My primary responsibilities were in the area of FICO, FI-MM & FI-SD integration for SCTL and its subsidiaries. The role was not only limited to making system configurations, but required a thorough understanding of the business process and map those into SAP invoking industry best practices within the Standard SAP framework. SCTL and its subsidiaries across the globe went live on SAP in February 2009. Rollout, Maintenance and Enhancement of Core R/3 component.

Implementation of SAP Business Object Planning & Consolidation.

Role detail:

Partnering with the Finance Department for the first successful Books Closure in SAP and thereon sustaining subsequent month ends & year ends on predictable timelines.

Re-implemented the FI-AA module for one of the subsidiary.

I am familiar with the Fixed Asset creation through settlement from IOs, Pos & Project Systems and other issues related to Fixed Asset life cycle in SAP.

Stabilizing the Core R/3 system by reducing the number of tickets (issues)

Implementing Legal changes – like change in VAT and TDS rates and rules – before the effective date

Identifying and removing manual interventions in book keeping. Ex: Apportionment of Fixed overheads to Revenue units was done in XL files. This book keeping exercise has been mapped into SAP such that the apportionment happens with a click of a button in SAP.

Identifying and implementing Internal Controls like setting up Budgeting control on Internal Order & WBS elements, Invoice Tolerances.

Worked towards implementing IFRS compliance.

Enabling better reporting through Standard SAP methods like Report Writer Reports.

Assessing the need and timing for applying higher Support Pack or upgrading the Release for Finance & Logistics part of Core R/3.

Upgrading their SAP from Classic GL to New GL (version ECC 6.0) and implementing new processes aimed at speeding up the month end and improving internal controls.

Role Detail:

Migration through the migration cockpit

Designing the test scope and conduct testing to ensure that existing processes work well in the new GL.

Identifying processes which have undergone change in new GL.

Implementing the add-on functionalities of – Accrual Engine, Intercompany Reconciliation, Journal with workflow and Closing cockpit in the new GL

The client is the leading Original Equipment Manufacturer in the US, supplying the big 3 automobile manufacturers in the US and also across the globe.

Role:

I was a part of the competency center team involved in rendering functional support & maintenance services to the client.

Enhancements for entities incorporated in Italy to ensure sequential numbering of documents, VAT register compliant with legal requirements, and local GAAP compliant closure of books.

Identified areas for USGAAP compliance such as foreign currency remeasurement. The process in SAP was modified suitably to comply with FASB.

Designing Cash Flow Statement as per the IFRS requirements through the Report painter tool in SAP.
