Duties: I was responsible for processing patient information for admission to home health
services. I dealt directly with physicians, case coordinators and DME companies. My field duties included
direct patient contact and patient education. As the Home Health Case Coordinator I was responsible for
communicating with insurance companies and planning the patient's course of home health care.
2004-1999: Registered Nurse with Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (CARTI)
Duties: I saw patients directly, taking medical histories and performing assessments. I was also responsible for patient education and referring patients to dieticians, social workers or counselors as appropriate. I attended CARTI patient retreats both as a nurse and counselor. I participated in patient counseling sessions and lectured on the role of the caregiver. I gave new radiation students a tour of the CARTI facilities and mentored students during their required training time with nurses. I volunteered to travel with the "CARTI KIDS" on four summer trips, serving as the sole nurse to 40 children. I helped plan yearly nursing educational retreats for the CARTI nurses. I chaired a nursing committee, which developed new patient educational materials.
1999-1988: EEG Technician Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH)
DUTIES: I monitored children via video in the seizure-monitoring unit. I worked closely with the children, their families, and nurses to coordinate an appropriate treatment plan. I monitored patients in the operating room during brain mapping surgery.
