Now a days I am working with Engineering Solutionz, a company with highly experienced engineering professionals from Petrochemical & Fertilizer industries. In my present position as Manager Business Development, I stand responsible for the Operations Management and Project Management activities in the projects captured by this company.
I am working on a proposal for 50 MTD Sulfuric Acid and 125 MTD SSPG plant. Also coordinating a project for installation of a new exchanger in Attock Refinery is in progress.

Descon Engineering, Ltd. operates as an engineering, manufacturing, and construction company. The company engages in industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. Its services portfolio include project management services, commissioning and startup, and de-bottlenecking services; and manufacturing of process equipment for the oil and gas, chemical/petrochemical, power, fertilizer, & cement sectors.
I started my career at Descon Engineering Ltd with Urea De-bottlenecking Project in RUWAIS Fertilizers (FERTIL) UAE. Here the job was modifications in Urea plant, Utility cooling water system, a new Granulation unit for urea, & a new CO2 Recovery unit. The resultant Urea production raised to 1850 MTD and 20% excess CO2 recovered from Flue gases. I worked on Granulation unit, Urea expansion unit & 400M/T CO2 Removal Plant.
My next Project was ENVEN 1.3 project which was expansion project of ENGRO Fertilizer Ltd, Dharki, Pakistan. This is the world’s largest single train Ammonia Urea plants with a capacity of 2194 MTD & 3500 MTD respectively. A new CO2 Recovery unit was also installed to recover excess CO2 being released in flue gases. Here I worked in different capacities such as Project engineer, expediter for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and quality control etc on Ammonia & CO2 Recovery unit. The details of my job responsibilities on these projects are as below
UREA De-bottlenecking Project 2008- 2009
Ruwais Fertilizers (FERTIL) UAE
At RUWAIS Fertilizers (FERTIL) UAE, on Urea De-bottlenecking Project, my main responsibilities included the following:
• Coordination with engineering, field operations and technical support teams under the direction of the project manager. Providing technical assistance in optimizing existing facilities
• Reviewing various project documents for different project phases and review of PFD’s, P&ID’s
• Working closely with area leads to ensure projects execution in a safe manner.
• Studying the Licensors Operating Manuals and Vendor’s Operation & Maintenance Manuals for preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Preparation and division of commissioning System, sub-systems and finally their Dossiers
• Confirm the system / sub-system definition set by the process department
• Preparation of Pre-commissioning & Commissioning procedures and other documents.
• Preparation of Pre-commissioning & Commissioning Schedules.
• Ensuring that all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures.

• Coordination with engineering, field operations and technical support teams under the direction of the project manager
• Reviewing various project documents for different project phases including PFD’s, P&ID’s
• Co-ordination with the Facilities Engineer and different disciplines for the inputs into engineering deliverables including PFD’s, P&ID’s, line list
• Interfacing with engineering discipline leads and mitigate interdisciplinary conflicts
• Reviewing 3D Model for compliance with the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up requirements

Operations Engineer
Ammonia Plant 2005 - 2008
Pak-American Fertilizer Ltd. Iskanderabad, Pakistan
Pak-American Fertilizers Limited (PAFL) located at Iskanderabad (Daudkhel), Distt: Mianwali. The Ammonia/Urea Plant was commissioned in 1999. The new plant is designed to produce 600 Ton/Day Ammonia and 1,050 Ton/Day urea using natural gas as feed and fuel. Both plants have been designed by TOYO Engineering Japan. Ammonia plant is under license from Kellogg International, USA, while urea plant is TEC's own.
I joined PAFL as a trainee engineer and worked on 600 MTD capacity Kellogg Ammonia Plant. After training I got confirmed as a Shift Operation Manager/Engineer. Being shift manager, my responsibilities were as under:
• Being fully conversant with PFD’s, P&ID’s, equipment datasheets
• Involvement in problem analysis and assistance to operation department during annual turnarounds. Start up and shutdown activities
• Being well versed in the operation of furnaces, steam turbines and compressors
• Replaced Catalyst of Hydrotreator, High temperature shift converter, and methenator in annual turn arounds meeting deadline.
• Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of rotary and stationary equipments
• Arrangement and participation in safety discussions on weekly basis, HSE training of the shift operators.
• Handling emergencies and ensuring minimum downtime of plant by keeping group staff alert and prepared for any emergency events.
• Managing normal and emergency start-up/ shutdowns ensuring zero mishandling.
• Ensuring plant safety and safe operating procedures as well as staff personal development regarding plant operations and safety.
• Performing different assigned jobs during Annual Turn Around.
• Coordinating with Field Maintenance, Electric and Instrument Sections and Workshops for timely completion of repair/ maintenance activities.
• Co-ordination with Inspection Department regarding Condition Monitoring of Rotary and Stationary Equipment.
