Assisted senior designers at a busy & reputable advertising firm. Contributed to the implementation of print & web ad editing & design, format changes, direct mail design & editing, email blast design & launch, posting internet listings, website updating, photo formatting, photo research, written & oral communications internally, with clients & vendors.

Graphic Designer: The Town Common Newspaper (2007 - 2008), Rowley, MA.

As the only in-house designer, I created print & web advertisements, designed, developed & maintained the newspaper’s website, created layouts for publications, assisted in the coordination of marketing & sales campaigns & provided general administrative support.

As part of a fairly small customer service team at a toy distributing company, I processed orders, credits & replacements, solved problems & answered questions, facilitated orders placed on the company’s website, interacted with businesses & individual retailers, provided general administrative support & attended a week-long trade show in New York City.

Sales Associate: Galyan’s (2003 - 2004), Danvers, MA.

Began as a cashier, transferred to customer service shortly after & then became a sales associate on the floor. Was the leading salesperson for the Galyan’s Rewards Card during each of my initial 3 months. Helped customers with questions, finding product, selling product, stocking product & returns.

Internships

Marketing and Advertising Intern: The Telegram & Gazette (Jan. 2003 - May 2003), Worcester, MA.

Interning 3 days a week for 5 months in the marketing & advertising department, I assisted in the marketing & updating of several seasonal booklets for the community. Also interviewed various companies from car dealerships to furniture stores & then wrote articles that were published in the newspaper. I assisted the in-house graphic designer in making changes to advertising designs using Quark & also attended events for the newspaper.

Production Intern: Worcester Magazine (Jan. 2003 - May 2003), Worcester, MA.

Interning 1 day a week for 5 months in the production department, I learned the proper formatting for print advertisements, assisted in making changes to copy & design for various print ads, designed a few of my own ads for brochures, fliers & print ads.
