1. Ran backup operations for 2 MFX data centers and various clients sites around the world containing 2000 physical and virtual servers running various backup software solutions (listed below). This included set up and installation of tape libraries, installation and setup of backup software, management of tape libraries and rotations, clone management, management of network connections (IP connection to servers, fiber connections to the tape libraries), reporting and troubleshooting backup failures.
2. Performed Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises for multiple clients both in house and at a third party DR site. DR projects involved as many as 35 servers and more than 2TB of data in both Windows and Unix environments.
3. Implemented migration plan to new backup software solution (EMC Avamar) creating a disc based backup solution with off site replication.
4. Installed backup infrastructure and software solution (Unitrends) for client on site to support backup and DR for 50 servers.
5. Interfaced with clients to coordinate patch management, database maintenance and server upgrades with backup activities.
6. Provided emergency backup support both locally at MFX data center and on site at client locations.
