I was employed as an Operations & Technical Manager Production & Technical Manager in Midrand and Pretoria where I managed a Technical manufacturing workshop as well as project managing with definite deadlines.

I managed 35 staff on the floor. The company manufactures and sells mild steel as well as Stainless steel, Aluminum and Sheet metal, Auto & industrial vehicle frames and auto-engineering parts for export purposes including local distribution on a small scale.

The training of apprentices and assessment of staff was also part of my job spec, in general it was operations management in all aspects of the production and technical divisions. I have also managed the vehicle maintenance department.

The position gave me the opportunity to focus on staff as well as Mechanical Production and Workshop Management.

The company had unfortunately moved to the Western Cape and Namibia, therefore my reason for moving on as my children are starting school in January 2012.

3. Xerox & Canon (Sales Manager), March 2003 – Aug 2006

I was offered a position as a senior sales manager and training officer at Xerox upon my return to SA. I managed a sales team consisting of 6 – 12 staff at direct sales level as well as major accounts. My daily activities included developing new business and managing the lead generating process.

Being part of the company’s management team I also developed sales strategies in line with company targets and achieving those targets. I wrote proposals with sales staff, setting up and assisting them with appointments up to the closing stage.

Canon:

I left Xerox when Canon offered me and my sales team a much better business deal. I joined Canon with my sales team and was very successful. My duties and sales responsibilities were similar to Xerox.

My sales team focused on different regions and total solutions selling offerings.

I left the company due to inferior products offered to high-end customers with no/poor after- sales service from the supplier and service dept.

5. InfoTech (Sales Manager), February 1996 to February 1999

I was the offered a Sales / Technical Manager position at a company called InfoTech System Flo, which deals with software, (Microsoft and Eastman Software) regarding Storage and Imaging as well as Workflow.

I managed day to day operations as well as all sales activity and Technical Training. I managed to get the opportunity to work at our international partners and left InfoTech to pursue an overseas opportunity.

I have studied Occupational Therapy, completing my course in 1986 at the University of Pretoria. My studies extended into various fields of therapy.
