Development/Fundraising
Assist the Development Manager with all aspects of YPT fundraising, including practical and strategic relations with foundations, corporations, government agencies and individual donors.
o Assist with online research and monitoring of grants deadlines, individual donor profiles, and new avenues of funding for YPT.
o Research and generate reports on foundation, government and corporate grant opportunities and requirements.

Stage Manager/Assistant Stage Manager Spring 2009 – Fall 2009
Young Playwrights’ Theater, Washington, DC
Pre-Production
• Attends all production meetings and takes notes on topics discussed.
• With guidance from the Production Manager, assembles the master tour binder, Stage Manger’s binder, and script binders for actors, directors and designers.
• Researches and assembles driving directions and venue information sheets for each venue, to be used by the Stage Manager on the road.
• Prepares a Stage Manager’s Tool Box with pens, pencils, duct tape, paper, etc., to be provided to the Stage Manager on the first day of rehearsal.
Rehearsal Period
• Inspects and sweeps the rehearsal space before each rehearsal.
• Creates and posts daily sign-in sheets for all tour artists, and encourages artists to sign in at the beginning of each rehearsal.
• Calls late actors, as directed by the Stage Manager.
• Supervises the proper storage of all props, set pieces and costumes after each rehearsal.
• Helps actors assemble set pieces, props and costumes at the beginning of each rehearsal, as directed by the Stage Manager.
• Purchases and creates rehearsal props and final performance props, as directed by the Production Manager.
• Assists Stage Manager with taking and maintaining blocking notes.
• Takes line notes and prompts actors who drop lines.
• Assists stage manager with all necessary tech, including the running of sound.
• May have other rehearsal responsibilities as assigned by the Stage Manager or Production Manager.
Tour Performances
• Travels on the Tour bus with the rest of the Tour company to each performance venue, arriving promptly at all designated call times and locations.
• Calls late actors, as directed by the Stage Manager.
• Helps Stage Manager navigate to each performance venue.
• Greets YPT’s contact at each venue and receives directions for load-in and set up before the Tour company unloads set pieces, props and costumes.
• Helps the Tour company load and unload all set pieces, props and costumes.
• Inspects the performance space before each show for safety and cleanliness.
• Assists stage manager with all necessary tech, including the running of sound.
• Leads post-show discussion and activities with actors and student audiences.
• Helps maintain the artistic intentions of the Tour directors and Producing Artistic Director on the road.
• Serves as eyes and ears for YPT on the road, providing daily written performance reports to the Production Manager and Producing Artistic Director, and immediately notifying the Production Manager and Producing Artistic Director of anything out of the ordinary, including anything that seemed to endanger or impede the Tour.
