Work Experience: Page 1

While owning and operating my own business, I have dealt with many people on a professional basis. Having to keep records and schedules for Karate, Aerobics, Kids Dance, Weightlifting, Tanning schedules, as well as Doctors, and Hospitals that I worked with in the Rehabilitation of people, as well as supervising my workers.

Working at Alkar as a Food Service Technician broadened me more as I worked with electronics, pneumatics, motors, blowers, valves, refrigeration, hydraulics, gas burners, steam coils, tig - mig welding (stainless steel), and many other aspects to do with the food processing ovens. Refrigeration units with the chilling units for the chillers, and a little bit with steam boilers. Worked with several different computer systems like the Ladder Logic, TNT, Modican, Windows 95,98, and 2000 programs, chart recorders, level sensors, and other Allan Bradley PLC.

At Alkar when not on service calls I was doing reports, taking service phone calls, training on new Alan Bradley computer systems, studying new oven controls, trouble shooting with customers on their equipment at plants, and trying to educate myself with the equipment that best that I could. Getting a sign off on a piece of equipment that the customer bought was very important as it showed that I did my job in getting the piece of equipment working to the customers satisfaction.

Working with Rapid - Pak (packaging department) a division at Alkar was a new challenge covering a new area of the food industry. I have built many packaging machines, tested them in the Rapid - Pak plant, and tested them with the product that was brought in by the customers to their satisfaction before the machine was going to leave to the customers plant. Building the first two steam Flash Pasteurization machines that was installed into the packaging line, taking on the leadership of this Flash machine I drew, and rewired the electrical layout of the flash machine that went to the AMI show in Chicago as it looked better and was more simplified. The AMI show is the American Meat Institute in which food producing companies come from all over the world to show off their latest food processing, and packaging machines . I have wired up many electrical panels dealing with electricity of 24V, 110,220, & 460 volt electricity.

I feel that I have bettered myself as a human being with a all of the experiences that I have had dealing with people from all parts of the world and threw all the phases of my life. Having always been on schedule, and have kept records in my business, and the places that I have worked at. I take pride in the work that I do, willing to learn something new, leading a task with my leadership skills and take on the responsibility with the job that I was the lead person on.

I have had lots of training in pumps, motors, electricity, computers, safety (OSHA training), tig, mig, ark welding , working with boilers, college MATC welding, and forklift operational training. Fabricating metal or projects in the plant, welding steam coils in the plant was done a lot.

At Sanimax I have worked with a variation of building pumps, fabricating piping, running new piping routes, building alternative backup systems, and setting up new pm schedules. Installing many different valves depending on the application, and taking care of the natural gas, and testing of refined grease to be used to burn in the boiler. Heat exchangers was a challenge trying to make it more efficient and easier to work on. The separators that I have worked with were for separating the oil, and water was a new learning curve for me in furthering my education.

In the maintenance department I would set up the (pm) preventative maintenance schedules that were performed on over 50 motors and pumps to be done every week, (cm) corrective maintenance and jobs to be worked on to make the plant run more efficiently, and more safely for everyone.

Safety was a must with the confined space entry, energy safety making sure that you did not have any positive energy to the area that you were working on like, electricity, pneumatic, vacuum, steam, hydraulic, water. The continuing education about the OSHA laws and safety that we took two times per year, is great asset to the company and for our own safety. First Response training (person), Fibulator training, and CPR training.

Keeping records on the problems that have been fixed at a plant, preventative maintenance, and having verbal communication with the production people, and supervisors on all work shifts so everyone knows what has been fixed on a machine is so very important. Programming level censors, cyclone machine for separating the grease from the water, and setting up chart recorders was a on going job.
