V.P. Distribution Operations - West Deptford, NJ (2010 – 2012)
Stabilized staffing and created a core of 250 employees and a flexible workforce of 40-90 temporaries, to support the operational changes at the 55M unit site, installed a new WM system and new host system (SAP) for footwear, accessories and jewelry, resulting in an increase in WEB units.
• With a $1.2M investment, evaluated and replaced 50% of existing pieces of material handling equipment
• Increased total shipments from 48% to 82% for West Deptford WEB shipments
• Expanded volume growth resulted in reinstituting and revitalizing a 2nd shift WEB operation
V.P. Distribution Operations - West Deptford, NJ and Providence, RI (2008 – 2010)
Continued with the West Deptford operation and the subsequent restructuring plans. Hired and trained new staff.
• Prepared main DC operation for Warehouse Management (WM) implementation
• Relocated jewelry operation to West Deptford onto a new host system (SAP) and new WM platform
(Manhattan Associates) and closed R.I. jewelry facility
• Increased WEB shipments from the NJ site and drastically reduced shipments from the Retail Stores
• Overall volume 59M units split between the 2 sites. This included the timeline where RI was scaling
down and we were ramping up in West Deptford.
V.P. Distribution Operations -
West Deptford, NJ, Providence, RI, Lawrenceburg, TN (2005 – 2008)
Led and managed all activities for 3 multi-site Operations with a total of 2.6M sq. ft. / 91M units.
• Drove all activities in a 1.2M sq. ft. operation in Lawrenceburg, TN for 2 buildings with mezzanines. Installed a GOH automated outbound sorter for apparel and a startup WEB operation, instituted new Warehouse Management (WM) processes and procedures with an employee incentive system. 31M units.
• Responsible for the 1.1M sq. ft./ 52M units Operation in West Deptford, NJ containing 2 buildings. Main building contained an automated inbound sorter and a 3 floor mezzanine with a tilt tray sorter for outbound product. Second building contained an automated inbound sorter and a separate WEB operation for footwear, accessories and licensed apparel
• Realized $1.4M in annual savings eliminating a 2nd shift footwear and accessory operation
• Managed 300K sq. ft. operation in Providence, RI with a site volume of 8.5M units of jewelry for a total of 2.6M sq. ft. and shipments of 91M units
• Saved $9M closing the Secaucus, NJ facility. Increased 3PL capacity for additional DC consolidations
• Negotiated out of a Union Contract
V.P. Distribution Better Apparel (2002 – 2005)
Managed all activities for a multi-site, 3.2M sq. ft./ 62M units of shipment Operation.
• Integrated Kasper ASL into Jones systems and reducing costs
• Maintained Customer/Vendor compliance, Order Allocations and Corporate Traffic
• Realized a 2% reduction in cost per unit implementing procedural changes, individual incentive program and training initiatives. Initiated and implemented a 3PL program restructuring and consolidation plan for Apparel, Footwear and Accessories
• Saved $17M closing Rural Hall, NC and Bristol, PA facilities as part of a corporate restructuring plan
