Professional Objectives
My professional goals are to continue my education by becoming ACLS certified, joining the American Nursing Association and becoming an active member while looking forward to completing my studies upon returning to work for my MSN. I am excited about my future as a nurse and looking forward to getting into an organization where I can help make a difference. I am a hard worker and very conscientious in patient care. I am looking for an area where I can specialize in my nursing career and continue my education and certifications in that area. I am a team player and look forward to being on your healthcare team. Together we can make healthcare its best.
Professional Summary
In my responsibility for unit patients I provided quick and immediate assessment of their needs. In several situations I have discerned problem areas overlooked by other members of the healthcare team. I have worked assisting the M.D.’s, administering medications and providing general treatment for patients in acute care settings as well as behavioral health areas. While providing care for my patients I was also monitoring their progress and working up a full documentation on each of them. I have been told that I have excellent communication skills and have performed duties as rotational unit charge nurse and was on the Baylor Hospital shared governance committee. I was given the Baylor Service Excellence Award in 05-2009 and again on 08-2009 for team effort and patient congratulatory comments. I have extensive experience in management in a setting with over 40 employees, was responsible for monthly prevalent studies, patient care rounds for new admits in the first 24 hours in house, managed monthly hand washing audits and interviewed potential new employees. I worked hard to improve patient satisfaction ratings in all unit areas and also improved the satisfaction index from family members of the patients I served. In fact, as I was discharging a patient one afternoon and helping them get into their vehicle, a previous patient and his wife passed by and said, “There’s the good nurse!”
