I am a CPA who was recently with an international environmental consulting firm and an integral part of the local leadership team. In my position my duties were varied and extensive in all aspects of business. I was employed with Environmental Resources Management (ERM) for almost 14 years and prior to that time I worked with a local restaurant franchisee for 14 years. I oversaw the restaurant chains growth from 24 stores to over 96 stores during my 14 years as their Controller.

With ERM, I supervised the regional accounting and IT staff here in the Nashville headquarters for the Southeast division. I am very familiar with the architecture/engineering industry, project accounting, and especially the environmental aspects of the engineering business. I have used various accounting software as well as BST, Mas 90, and Peachtree products.

The focus of my position was to help management make informed decisions which would increase the profitability of the organization while managing the overall risk factors as well. I am very familiar with GAAP, and pulling together the information needed for outside reporting. I have supervised the accounting, HR, and IT staff in my role as both Controller and Regional Finance Director. My other duties include budgeting for four regional reporting divisions and tracking the monthly performance of each one. Making management aware of potential areas that needed focus or corrections. Not only budgeting but cash management, supervising accounts payable/ accounts receivable, contract negotiations, and making purchasing recommendations were part of my responsibilities. I have traveled to various offices to work with other senior managers to insure compliance with policy and attention to financial directives.

I have broad knowledge of business which would be well suited for the position you have available. I have a broad overall background which allows for a big picture view. My varied experience should allow me to easily transition into the Controller position you have available.
