January 2011 to October 2011 Company: Frigstad

Position: Senior Commissioning Engineer

Duties: Commissioning the Kongsberg K Chief, K Safe, K Pos & Hipap DCS Systems on the Delba 3 Semi Sub Drilling Rig in Abu Dhabi. I was also partially responsible for the F.M.E.A that was carried out in conjunction with Noble Denton on sea trials, prior to the rig’s sail away to go on contract with the Brazilian oil company Petrobras.

August 2010 to November 2010 Company: KL Gates

Position: E & I Expert

Duties: Working for a Singapore law company as a technical expert in an arbitration case between a shipyard & a drilling company. The job involved reading through all the E & I documentation relevant to the drill floor & the CO2 system & then formulating reports for the court in Singapore & ultimately appearing in court before the arbitration panel.

October 2008 to May 2010 Company: Maersk Singapore/Offshore Contacts

Position: E & I Superintendent

Duties: Verified analogue & digital I/O’s to the Kongsberg DCS & corrected design inconsistencies on the shipyard supplied E & I drawings on 3 Maersk DP Semi Sub Drilling Rigs. Responsibilities also included the mechanical completion verification & documentation collation for the marine, utilities & drilling packages, using CCMS . Commissioning & acceptance documentation completed after integration testing of the complete rig systems.

Duties: Recruited to help relieve the backlog in planned maintenance work on Oil Exco’s Rig.

Duties: Carrying out new instrumentation tie-ins on the amine & N.R.U areas of British Gas’s gas treatment plant in Sfax, Tunisia during it’s2008 shutdown.

Duties: Recruited for the final phase of the topsides commissioning on Petrobras F.P.S.O the Siri located in Rio de Janeiro Bay prior to it moving to its final offshore location. Mainly involved in the commissioning of the vessels Fire & Gas Systems, particularly the line of sight gas Detection & the Co2 fire extinguishent, back to the Emerson Delta V DCS.

Duties: Recruited for the commissioning work to be carried out on the Talisman Piper Platform in the North Sea under the scope of the Tweedsmuir project.

Duties: Recruited for the pre-calibration & commissioning of the instrumentation associated with bringing online the latest Oil Flowline on the Talisman Clyde platform in the North Sea.

Duties: Involved in the final commissioning phases of the Shell/ Bonga F.P.S.O offshore in Nigeria, working on both the Subsea & Topsides Areas in the run up to ‘first oil’ production.

Duties: Commissioned the BP Clair/Rhum Platforms in Wallsend Module Yard before going offshore with the Clair. The DCS package used was Honeywell’s Total Control Solutions.

Duties: Commissioned the Fire & Gas System and its associated field detectors back to a Yokagawa D.C.S & ESD System. Set up and implemented a maintenance program.

Duties: Upgrading Shells Champion 7 Offshore Platforms Gas Turbines and Compressors to operate off a new Foxboro DCS & Triconex PLC System. New Sieger Fire and Gas Detectors were also installed and calibrated and tied into the above system.

Duties: Specifying Instrumentation in the form of PC Generated Data Sheets, to meet the Design Criteria of WMC’s Olympic Dam Copper/Uranium Expansion Project in South Australia. The job also entailed site visits to discuss commissioning problems.

Duties: Recruited for the modernisation of Shells Champion 7 offshore field facility. The work involved inspecting new equipment & installations for the rigs Fire & Gas and E.S.D. Systems. Checking of the relevant As-Builts and Test Sheets was also carried out.

Duties: Carrying out construction and commissioning work on Maersk/McCullagh’s F.P.S.O. Vessel, The North Sea Producer in Middlebroughs S.L.P. Yard.

Position: Instrumentation Engineer

Duties: Responsible for a team of Technicians and Instrument Pipe Fitters on projects for Shell in Rabi Gabon. Duties included checking work packs for content, prior to implementation, liaising with operations & raising of work permits. Main areas of work were installation and calibration of new smart Instrumentation and DCS systems. Responsible for group safety meetings and ensuring personnel adhered to safety regulations.
