OBJECTIVE

To obtain a Safety and Health Director, Loss Control Consultant, or Environmental Safety position with a company of solid background with a focus on the principles of integrity, leadership and teamwork.

• Successfully conducted Toolbox Safety Talks in English and Spanish for private clients.

• Performed on-site investigations for causes of injuries/fatalities (fall protection, electrocution/struck-bys, and caught-in-betweens).

• OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer performing 10 and 30-hour construction outreach training in accordance with guidelines provided by OSHA Training Institute.

02/11-03/12, On Site Corporate Safety Director for Gyptech Inc, Roxboro,NC

Gyptech is the world leader in gypsum board manufacturing; robotic machine installations. My responsibilities included managing the overall company site safety operations, Provided technical expertise on manufacturing process, machine installation, start-up, commissioning, pneumatic air and gas purging activities. Ensured company risk management and loss control policies and procedures were in compliance with OSHA, state, federal and International (Britian, French and Canadian) regulations ISO14000. Lead and managed operations for workers compensation, back to work policy and drug policy for approximately 250 employees and subcontractors. Performed loss trending and claims review for clients. Implemented and designed site specific safety policies and procedures. Conducted several employee osha compliance training and accident prevention classes on various topics in English and Spanish in order to control cost. Monitored and implemented an aggressive LOTO procedure for site contractor’s venders. Performed confined space activities in silos, pits and other various areas’. Assist foremen/superintendents in task performance assessments to observe, evaluate and eliminate hazards. Act as a conduit between client, corporate liaison and other cultures. 06/10-01/11, On Site Safety Manager for Southern Industrial Inc. Raleigh,NC.

Provide on-site risk assessments on several projects throughout the North Carolina region. Conducted in depth OSHA mock inspections at Industrial, Manufacturing and Construction facilities for 50 employees per site. Monitored all levels of high steel erection activities, multiple crane operations; with a primary focus on fall protection and welding operations. 01/06-12/09, On-Site Safety Consultant for BATSON-COOK GENERAL CONTRACTORS, Charlotte NC

Performed loss control services for Batson-Cook General Contractors providing safety, audits and training for 986-employee jobsite. Managed and directed a 30-member safety committee, supervised and directed all CCIP and OCIP programs, maintained and directed 8 tower crane inspections, to include critical lifts. Responsible for all on-site project safety audits, safety training and safety education, as well as risk management. Partnered with the City of Charlotte to execute written procedures in accordance to DOT for the prevention of pedestrian accidents and exposures. Collaborated with city management team and OSHA in providing a better risk assessment program. Assisted in the implementation of a strong safety employee incentive program. Project: Duke Energy/Wells Fargo; Approx. $1.63 billion project.

10/05-12/05, On-Site Safety Coordinator for C.P. BUCKNER STEEL ERECTORS, Kannapolis NC

Provided risk management and on-site safety. Assessed and observed all crane operations, high-risk steel erections and welding activities. Performing loss control audits, policy and documentation reviews, along with intense Subpart R training (English and Spanish). Project: Research Center, Kannapolis NC; Approx. $18 million project.

09/05-09/06, Loss Prevention Consultant for HANSON SAFETY SERVICES, Southeast Region and East Coast

Performed loss control and risk management services to insured clients, investigated and reviewed all record-keeping and human resources documentations, worker’s compensation claims, as well as provided updates for client general liability policies.
