Nurse Assistant Student - During March 2012, Tatiana participated in hands on nurse assistant clinical shifts at The Johnson Center nursing home, hospice and rehab centers. Tatiana was paired and worked under the supervision of onsite staff and concentrated on the following areas of daily living care taking:
Bathing, dressing, grooming and handling hygiene of an average of eight geriatric and terminally ill patients per shift with the assistance of Hoyer lift and staff as needed.
Charted and documented vital signs, input and output
Assisted patients and residents in preserving their privacy rights and independence
Verbally communicated nursing problems to on coming shift and charge nurse.
Performed round checks and maintained residents and their linens clean and in order; emptied their urinals, bedpans and disposed of dirty linen.
