I have worked in many facets of the wine and beer industry for the last 6 years. This has given me both experience and insight into a very diverse product base, as well as a true passion for libations and their ability to bring people together. 2010- Present Bartender/ Server Growlers Pour House Charlotte, NC

Tend bar in a high volume brewpub that specializes in American small craft beer. Remain current on a fluctuating beer menu to enhance my beer knowledge. Provide accurate flavor profiles to guests on all beers in house to help them determine what best suits there pallet. Educate guests of different beer styles and how the effect the overall flavors of beer, as well as food and beer parings.

2009- 12/2010 Server Ruth’s Chris Steak House Charlotte, NC

Served guests with the very highest attention to detail, in a fine dinning establishment. Assisted guests in making the best food and wine pairing choices to suit their tastes and budget. Gained in-depth knowledge into all facets of wine flavors and production, including the effects of different soil types, irrigation, yearly temperatures, steps of fermentation, ageing, and bottling. Also learned to identify and describe the common characteristics of grapes of the same varietals but different regions, and understand the blending of wines to create new depths of flavor and body. Assisted in the opening of a new restaurant in the South Park area and worked as a bartender. I assisted the bar manager in creating the wine list. Worked with venders from many of the Charlotte area beverage distributors to build an impressive wine list from the ground up. Gained the experience of seeing how the vendor client relationship is established and what a salesperson needs to do to get their product into a restaurant and maintain the relationship.

Worked for a wine distribution company doing tasting of their featured products. Established relationships with store managers. Developed basic understanding of the role of the sales person in getting new products on the market. Prepared displays and managed back stock. Traveled to different grocery stores in the Charlotte area and saw first hand how different stores handled inventory. Worked with costumers to help them make the best wine choices for them, in a fun and easygoing way. Refined and tailored my sales approach to the different stores clientele to put the best spin on products.
