Rehabilitation (revamp) Refinería Estatal de Esmeraldas, Ecuador

Restore the mechanical integrity of the refinery to 100% capacity: 110,000 BPDO in a sustained safe form to achieve operational continuity. Consistng of 30 projects, distributed in three phases (maintenance, phase I and phase II), are designed to restore the refinery to design capacity. Expand the FCC unit to 20,000, rehabilitate the areas of auxiliary services (Turbo-generators and boilers), I and II none catalytic units, installation of a new plant for treatment of used caustic, build tanks for asphalt, new raw water line, etc; in addition to training the refinery operation personnel. The total revamp approximate period is 5 years (2008-2013) with an approximate cost of over $800 million.

Design Engineering Manager for the PMC (Project Management Construction) responsible for the management and oversight of the basic design and detailed engineering of the facility. The engineering team consisted of the following staff : process, electrical, instrumentation and control, civil, piping, rotating equipment, mechanical engineers and administrative personnel. Monitor and review the submission of all deliverables and ensured that the reviews and approvals were consistent with the specifications and other provisions of the contract. Ensure that facilities were designed and built according to specifications and other requirements specified in the Contract.
