During my term of office as President of the Oak Meadows Civic Club, I increased club membership by over 200 %. I worked with City of Houston staff to develop and renovate Oak Meadows Park, install speed humps, and the overlay of all major streets. We also received donations from private area corporations in excess of $100,000.00 to install street lights throughout the community along with various additional improvements to Oak Meadows Park. I worked with the youth of our neighborhood on many community projects. Being a non-profit organization, I was able to provide community service to area youth which aided the elderly and handicapped residents.

Secretary/ Treasurer - PIP Organization - Houston Police Department

From 1994 I have acted as Secretary for the Magnolia East Side Division of the Houston Police Department. I work with the Community Service Division and have assisted them in fund raising for the “bike patrol”. I have won several individual awards through the years from the Houston Police Department, Magnolia Substation, along with citywide recognition of my achievements. I was elected to serve as Treasurer for this organization for the years 2001 to 2003.
