As an accounting clerk I was responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to accounting department personnel.

2) Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator or computer.

4) May type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, using typewriter or computer.

As an insurance claims clerk, I had administrative and claims processing responsibilities.
My administrative duties included supporting senior underwriters in the claims department by answering phones, taking and distributing messages, as well as providing customers with information as requested and contacting loss adjusters. I also typed and distributed correspondence, entered data into a computer database and organized and maintained files.
My claims processing duties included receiving information from customers, entering the appropriate information into a claims database and explaining the process of submitting a claim to customers. The information is then forwarded to another staff member to complete the required actions to process the claim. I also prepared payments for disbursement to customers. I ensured customers are addressed and the claims are processed accurately and in a timely fashion.
