Hubbard Materials is an aggregate importation company with FDOT Class IV mine certification. All Quality Control testing and certification of aggregates performed in-house. Received and processed 550,000 Metric Tons of Canadian aggregate in 2009-2010.

Financial and Corporate

Reported to company President/CEO. Supervised Estimating Team. Worked with Corporate Chief Estimator and V.P. for Business Development on Design / Build projects including FDOT I-95 Brevard County, Alligator Alley P3 analysis and Trinidad NDICO Motorways a project with Vinci Construction.

Maintained net profit during recession. Revenue dropped 14% during the same period. Responsible for Plant and Operation P&L from 2004 to 2009 and two Divisions 2009 and 10.

Assured stabile aggregate pricing by importing aggregates from Canada. Helped negotiate ten year agreements for production, shipping and offloading of aggregates.

Assured speedy and efficient conversion from J.D. Edwards to SAP accounting system. Conversion included field entry of all jobsite data by Foreman including timesheets.

Operations / Plants

Direct oversight of Project Managers and Engineers. Scope(s) of work included Prime and Subcontracts with Fl Turnpike Enterprise, FDOT, Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA), Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), Orlando Sanford International Airport, Orange and Seminole County, City of Orlando and local municipalities. Direct oversight of 200+ projects throughout career.

Constructed new $4.5M Asphalt Plant with "Green" Warm Mix Technology and upgraded others with PLC Control systems.

Upgraded two plants to Astec PLC control systems with new control houses and complete re-wiring of plant.

Reduced power consumption by 10% +/-, reduced plant drying cost by 70%.

Reduced plant maintenance cost over $350K ($.45/ ton) while maintaining plants in “show room” condition.

Reduced Shop Maintenance cost by 9%.

Produced and placed over 50K tons of Warm Mix Asphalt in 2009. Placed first FC-5 76-22 warm mix in Florida.

Quality Control

Constructed two new Quality Control Labs including a 3,500 SF central lab.

Established Quality Control Procedures for the field and maintained quality standards during recession. Reduced plant failures by 10%. Reduced field penalties and remediation cost by 3%.

Off loaded, processed, certified and recorded results for 550 K MT of aggregate imported from Canada. All results entered into FDOT Limms system within 48 hours of unloading of ship or shipping aggregates to Orlando. Reprocessed waste material into FDOT certified material dramatically reducing waste. Waste factor below 1%.

Safety and Environmental

Maintained zero lost time accident record with no recordable injuries.

Top to bottom review of safety procedures at asphalt plants. Implemented Arc Fault safety plan. Installed catwalks at all plants and enhanced lighting for night operations. Upgrades financed out of budget savings.

Eliminated use on solvents or switched to biodegradable solvents in filed operations and at plants.
