Functional Experience:
Office Manager - Employed by the owner of a beverage service company to establish a superior standard for customer service and manage the overall operation of the office. Primary responsibility was to interact with clients, recording their requests into ACT software, coordinating with the service mgr to schedule service, advising client of intended service date/time and troubleshooting any client disputes
Application Specialist – Employed by a Theological Seminary to train, support and troubleshoot an integrated college software package. Subsystems included Admissions/Prospects, Registrar, Curriculum, Alumni, Accounting, Payroll, and Database reporting. Primary responsibility was to interact with existing staff to troubleshoot problems, train new hires in using system and work on special projects utilizing the database reporter to customize reports as needed.
Software Trainer – Employed by a software development company to install an integrated manufacturing system which included modules for Order Entry/Tracking, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, Sales and Accounting. Primary responsibility was to work with new clients instructing them on system requirements for loading data and following up with on-site training instructing the usage of each module demonstrating how each integrated. Also was responsible for documenting client special reporting requirements, coordinating with programming for development and testing program utilizing customer data to guarantee satisfaction.
Software Installation Manager – Employed by software development company providing a home health care management system. Managed a group of 4 trainers, 1 assistant and 4 data entry operators. Responsibilities included scheduling trainers for 2 day in-house training presentations and 5-day on-site follow-up training. Trainers answered incoming calls, troubleshooting as required. Data entry operators provided a service to enter initial client information and staff daily .timesheet data when clients paid for this service.
Small Business Owner – Owned and operated a home computer retail store. Provided hardware, software, peripherals and accessories for Commodore, Atari and Apple home computers. Provided summer classes for children (age 7 – 12), designed application using data base management software, and managed a staff of 3. Financial data was input as income and expenses into Quicken for accountant review.
Software Development Team Member – While employed by a flavor and fragrance mfg company as a Logistics/Inventory Control Manager I was assigned to a special project team to work with a software developer to utilize a manufacturing information system (MIMS). MIMS consisted of modules for Order Entry, Bill of Material, Production Planning/Scheduling, Quality Control, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, Sales and Accounting. Data from these modules was then available to develop customized reporting via a powerful data base manager accessible through simple commands. This was a 2-year development project.
Logistics/Inventory Control Manager - While employed as an Executive Secretary to the VP of Mfg and Logistics I was transferred to the Flavor Division. Primary responsibility was to track incoming orders, compare inventory available to bill of material requirements for order, determine if material on hand is sufficient for manufacturing, monitor/adjust inventory levels, coordinated with purchasing for domestically available ingredients or with home office in Geneva for imported ingredients, determine batch size to fulfill order and maintain reasonable finished product inventory levels, schedule with production and advise quality control and shipping of dispatch schedules. All orders were monitored for scheduled ship date throughout the process and clients and salesmen were kept informed of any delays. Client activity reports were generated allowing Sales to routinely update sales forecasts and/or lead time requirements.
Executive Secretary to Vice President of Manufacturing and Logistics – While employed as a Girl Friday/Inventory Control Clerk for the Flavor Division was promoted to work directly with the Vice President. Primary responsibilities included daily meetings to review all incoming orders for both the Flavor and Fragrance Divisions, review production schedules, review shipping schedules, detail meetings with inventory management, production, shipping, purchasing, quality control, sales, development and accounting. Correspond daily with home office in Geneva via telex advising them of any problems and decided course of action. Also responsible to troubleshoot problem areas, meet with departments involved and present a possible solution.
Girl Friday/Inventory Control Clerk – Was employed by a flavor and fragrance company to assist the Inventory Manager for the Flavor Division in recording incoming order, checking order against inventory available, alert manager of any material requirements based on predetermined inventory levels, coordinate with purchasing for material requirements, type bill of material for production, deduct production usage from available inventory upon completion of batch, coordinate with purchasing, production, quality control, shipping and sales and advise manager of any problem areas.
