SKILLS
• Fillet weld in all positions * Butt welds in all positions ( Ut and X-ray).
• Understand and implement the proper control settings for industry standard welding power supplies and power supply controllers.
• Use an electronic protractor or digital level to determine part alignment for parallelism and perpendicularity.
• Flame cut metal using Oxy-fuel torch and mechanized beveling equipment;
• Use a right angle pneumatic or electric grinder to prepare a weld bevel for arc welding.
• Operating a wide range of fabrication and welding equipment to include but not limited to: band saw, cut off saw, slitting saw, rollers, shears, brake press, press, pipe, laser, plasma and various power tools.
WELDER (III) Professional Experience
A.P.I TRINIDAD LTD. , TRINIDAD W.I. 2008-2012
A.M.R Mechanical Inc. NY. 2001-2007
METROPOLITAN CONSTRUCTION FLUSHING QUEENS 1990 -2001
• Weld metal parts or components, using brazing, gas, or arc welding equipment.
• Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding. Selects most effective sequence and welding procedure including fixturing, bolting, positioning, dogging, strong backing and other measures which would allow for proper alignment during welding.
WELDER (III) Professional Experience (Continued)
• Weld 6G all positions horizontal, vertical, in flat and overhead position. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scraper or power chipper, portable grinder, or arc-cutting equipment.
• Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine final integrity of the completed job.
• Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weld able material by applying appropriate welding techniques, structural soundness with technical knowledge and a proven success.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Complex setups and hold close tolerances in the fabrication and weld manufacturing cycle of a variety of parts made from various materials and configurations - ferrous and nonferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum.
• Able to weld the following processes (GTAW) Gas Tig Arc Weld; (GMAW) Pulsed Spray; Gas Mig. Arc Weld; (FCAW) Flux Core Arc Weld; Stick Metal Arc Weld (SMAW).
• Provide guidance and direction to other weld personnel, e.g. such as instructing on weld sequencing and set-up and/or lay-out of fabricated products.
• Responsible for suggesting and working with Manufacturing Engineering and others in developing procedures which contribute toward more efficient and economic delivery of job completion.
• Use temperature indicating crayons and contact pyrometer to determine part temperature.
• Operate forklift to safely move palletized and loose materials.
• Performing diagnosis and repair on equipment/structural problems in accordance to industry standards.
