Hands on Atlanta~Global Soap Project, Norcross, GA Spring 2011 – Present
Atlanta-based Global Soap Project collect used hotel soap from across the United States. Instead of ending up in landfills, the soaps are cleaned and reprocessed for shipment to impoverished nations such as Haiti, Uganda, Kenya and Swaziland. Provided assistance in sorting, cleaning, cutting, and packaging soap for shipment. The soap is distributed all over to various organizations such as Heart for Africa, MedShare, AmeriCares, and Kenya Relief.
Leadership:
• As Cadet Platoon Leader, responsible for discipline, morale, cadet readiness, property accountability, inspections, and maintenance of 20 cadets under my supervision.
• As Division Inspector, accountable for ensuring rooms were clean and cadet’s needs were met for each individual’s assigned room. Performed weekly room inspections as directed.
• As Human Affairs Officer, served as counsel to cadets and event organization as it pertained to class company relations. Ensured the incoming Freshmen Cadets received and understood the policies and procedures according to the Cadet Guidebook.
