RESEARCH WORK:

Worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in a NAIP funded project entitled “Value chain on enrichment and popularization of potential food grains for neutraceutical benefits” at Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad.India.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Worked as a Project assistant at Institute of Agri Biotechnology (IABT), University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad, INDIA

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

Protein purification and analysis- Purification of lectin, PNA using affinity chromatography, resolution of protein samples on SDS-PAGE and Native PAGE. Gel filtration chromatography for molecular weight determination.

Expertise in molecular cloning techniques-such as PCR cloning, RT PCR, isolation of DNA/RNA from plant and fungal sources, restriction analysis, induction and purification of protein from E .coli

Biochemical assays- Hemagglutination and hapten inhibition assays for lectin activity /sugar specificity. Various enzyme assays (xylinase and protease).

Food analysis - Proximate analysis (moisture, protein, fat, carbohydrate, ash, total energy) protein estimation by nano drop, crude fiber and total fiber estimation, total phenol estimation by FCR method (spectroscopic), free fatty acid analysis, estimation of dietary fiber, estimation of peroxide value, estimation of nutritive value of the grains using NIR, estimation of antioxidants by HPLC. HPLC analysis for phenolics.
