EDUCATION

Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, December 2010.

GPA: 3.467; Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ.

Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, July 2007.

G. H. Patel College of Engineering and Technology, India

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Graduate Assistant at Micro-Scale Robotics and Automation Lab (MSRAL)

Stevens Institute of Technology. [August 2009-December 2010]

On MSRAL’s Meso- , Micro- and Nano- scale Manipulation Test-Bed I was tasked with the responsibility to determine the precise motion of micro-scale parts using the 4 micromanipulators on the test-bed. The manipulators were computer controlled due to high precision needed in motion of micro-scale parts. Custom image processing and control software was used to interface the hardware components of platform with a quasi-static dynamic simulator along with path planning algorithms to simulate and execute various tasks.

I did Research Paper on "Caging Micromanipulation for Automated Micro assembly" under the guidance of Prof. David J. Cappellieri which has been accepted at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation(ICRA) 2011, Shanghai, China. I was responsible for the path planning for the motion of objects and their precise movements.

I created and optimized the new design for an oscillating fan required to improve the design using SolidWorks 2010 as well as Pro/E Wildfire 4.0 and simultaneously reduce the cost for a group project on Oscillating Fan Redesign.

In a project for increasing the overall reliability of a microwave oven I performed the calculation for individual component's reliability which was crucial in determining overall reliability as well as where the reliability can be improved.

Another project on moving alarm clock using PIC microcontroller I was given the responsibility to program the PIC microcontroller using MPLAB IDE programmer to perform the designated tasks which was crucial in making the alarm clock move successfully.

Rockwell Automation’s ARENA was used for another one on Operation of Automated Baggage Handling System in an airport where I performed the test runs for finding out resource allocation which helped the team in finding the bottleneck situations at particular locations.
