Duties: All Human Resources functions at manufacturing plant level, payroll for salary and hourly utilizing PeopleSoft and Kronos, familiar with ISO 14001,Lean Manufacturing pillar boards/Level 1 boards, 5S practices, Union contract negotiations and conducted monthly Union-Management meetings, HRM, EHS, conducted All Employee Meeting Days, FMLA, STD/LTD knowledge, benefits management, absentee/tardy/vacation tracking and disciplinary actions, management of various employee programs on-site, management of LiveWell (a health insurance benefits program).

Duties: ALL Human Resources functions, AP, AR, Payroll, Payroll Tax Reports for State and Federal in 42 states. I also managed two salaried office employees. The software programs I utilized were WinX and Microsoft Office. Delta Gulf Corp is a non-union, natural gas pipeline construction company with seasonal employees numbering in the 300-400 range.

Duties: Human Resources Management who reported to HR Director at corporate office, manager of two office employees, AP, AR, Payroll, Payroll Tax Reports for State and Federal in 42 states. Software programs I utilized were CMS (accounting software for construction and manufacturing), ADP (payroll software), and MSOffice. CES is a unionized, natural gas pipeline maintenance and repair company with multiple branch companies. The unions depended upon the classification of the employee at the particular job. Some of the unions were: USW, Teamsters, IUOE, Pipeline Local Union, etc. The employees I was responsible for numbered in the 400-500 range.

Temple-Inland Inc. Minden, LA Manufacturing – Corrugated Box Plant

Duties: HR work, first aid person, accounts receivable, accounts payable, special HR projects as assigned by HR Manager or Plant Manager. Software programs I utilized were JD Edwards Accounting Software (construction and manufacturing) and MSOffice. Temple-Inland is a unionized, corrugated box plant. The union was USW and the Minden, LA location employed between 150-175 employees.

Kilpatrick Life Insurance Co. and AIG Shreveport, LA

Duties:. Sold Prearranged Funerals and Life Insurance and responsible for account management and collections of late premiums, consulting with potential customers and existing customers on their needs, developing a plan to meet insurance needs, selling the need to the customers. Cold calling sales technique, account management, collections, conflict resolution, communication skills, counseling, customer service/sales were other duties I performed.

Duties: Responsible for all HR duties including all aspects of the selection/hiring process (accepting applications, background investigations, Interviewing, hiring, drug testing, coordinating appointments for physicals), employment terminations, layoffs and call-backs, new-hire orientation, benefits and insurance administration (including presentations at meetings with employees and spouses to explain details of all benefits), keeping updated on all Federal and State Employment laws, safety reports, walked into plant several times weekly to conduct safety evaluations to insure compliance with all safety laws and OSHA regulations, accident investigations, Worker's Comp reports, coordinating employer-employee-union relationships, conflict resolution, Union negotiations and relations (USW). I worked in the Engineering department, as needed, to assist with drawing packages for the plant, specification sheets, and upkeep of the technical library. Software programs I utilized were MS-Dos, Lotus Notes Database program, Lotus 1-2-3, Lotus WordPro, Microsoft programs, and AutoCAD. Clement Industries was an open-door unionized plant (USW) and manufactured steel dump trailers. It was #1 in Steel Dump Trailer Manufacturing (sales) in the United States for over 20 years. Clement Industries

employed between 200-300 employees.

RM2 (Radioman Second Class Petty Officer)

April 1987 – June 1995

United States Navy (Active and Reserve)

Duties: On active duty I served in secure communications and was stationed in Orlando FL (Basic Training), San Diego CA (Radioman “A” School), Guam Marianas Islands (active duty service). I received many Letters of Appreciation and Letters of Commendation from the Commanding Officer of the base. I also served in the base Auxiliary Security Force which required extra anti-terrorist training. Medals/Ribbons: one Overseas Service Medal and Ribbon and one Desert Shield/Desert Storm Campaign Service Medal and Ribbon. On reserve duty, I served as RM2 and as the Training Instructor for five departments (job classifications). I was responsible for insuring the training needs were met for 50+ fellow shipmates (in-class training and off-site training). I was also responsible for coordinating all other training instructors with classes they were required to instruct. I also gained experience with personnel evaluations process from beginning to end. The last year of my reserve experience I conducted personnel evaluations of all reservists onboard, instructed classes, and was Training Coordinator for all reservists at our facility. Medals and Rewards: Two US Navy Meritorious Service Medals and Ribbons (each for 4 years Honorable Service).
