• Transformed the transaction focus of the H.R. Department into a value added business partner while dramatically reducing the cost of service. The H.R. function was viewed as a role model of excellence within the Company.

• Member and driver of the “lean manufacturing” steering committee and Executive Management team.

• Restructured the Human Resource function with an internal customer focus, significantly reducing the department staffing levels.

• Developed and implemented a total loss control program resulting in a significant reduction in accident severity and frequency as well as s sizeable rebate from NEER in Canada and WCB costs in the U.S..

• Successfully developed numerous collective bargaining mandates/strategies. Successfully negotiated initial and renewal contracts within mandate and without work stoppages.

• Developed and implemented the initial H.R. strategy for an automotive parts sub-assembler and a European gold mining operation integrated within the context of the overall business strategy.

• Redesigned the Corporate compensation programs (fixed and variable components) as well as establishing an Executive Stock Option plan.

• Redesigned the customer call acceptance protocols for a high tech company resulting in a dramatic improvement in average response time (from hours to ten minutes) and first call resolution rates (from 0 to 65%). This was accomplished with no additional expense or capital.

• Developed a Human Resource Planning activity encompassing human resource requirements, skills inventory and assessment, succession and developmental planning.

• Introduced a major Management Training Program "Management 1" involving 250+ supervisors/managers.

• Developed and implemented a "Performance Management Program" utilizing the Management 1 skills which linked Corporate objectives with individual key results and competencies.

• Chairperson for a major re-engineering program entitled "Work Effectiveness" which consisted of several multi-functional evaluation teams. Identified $6+ M in achievable cost savings.

During these periods I was asked by several clients (T.V.X., Automodular, Legrand Canada and Dominion Citrus Limited) to join their firms to lead the Human Resource function on a full time but interim basis.

Responsible for the development and successful implementation of integration plans for this global uranium mining company. Developed a replicable model of integration for all mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

Responsible, through a staff of seven professionals, for the functional activities of Human Resources, Health and Safety, Payroll and Regulatory Compliance for this privately held multi million dollar trucking and logistics provider with six non union Service Centres in Canada.

AUTOMODULAR ASSEMBLIES Inc.

Corporate Manager of Human Resources

Reported to the C.E.O. and responsible for the entire Human Resource function for this multi location automotive sub-assembler and sequencer. With operations in both Canada and the U.S. the Company has total revenue in excess of $100 Million and over 1,000 employee associates in unionized facilities.

Member of the senior integration team for Schneider Canada responsible for the integration and rationalization of the Schneider Canada Companies - Federal Pioneer, Square D, Merlin Gerin and Telemecanique
