Relevant Information
The year-long medical technology internship is hands training and implementation of skills learned. Twelve total weeks are spent in chemistry, hematology, and microbiology in a rotating schedule. After the first two weeks of each rotation I was allowed to start reporting patient results and running tests such as CBCs, hepatitis panels, and serology testing. Six weeks are spent in blood bank with one-on-one instruction, urinalysis, and coagulation. In each rotation I have been given tests that must be passed before I am allowed to report patient results.
