RE: Environmental Specialist position

Dear Human Resources Director:

Enclosed please find my resume, which I am sending in response to your advertisement for the position of Environmental Specialist. As you can see by my work history, I have extensive background on both the regulatory and civilian sector sides of environmental compliance regarding the oil and gasoline industry. I am looking to relocate from Connecticut shortly, and am looking to re-enter the environmental sector. My experience interfacing with all persons at most all levels involved in the regulatory and environmental processes on both the enforcement and civilian sides of the issues gives me a unique outlook in matters that enable me to solve problems more effectively than someone who has never “walked in the other individuals’ shoes”.

I hope to speak with you and arrange an interview at your convenience to discuss what I can offer your company. I look forward to the opportunity of speaking with you and am available for an interview on very short notice. Thank you very much for your time and any consideration you may give me.

Michael L. Thompson
