OBJECTIVE

To obtain a position as an Electrical Engineer that would help impart my hard-earned knowledge in the field of Design and systems and to be part of a team of Engineering Professionals to further my career in the corporate environment

WORK EXPERIENCE

Worked as a Project Engineer at Abu Dhabi Tourism Development Investment Company (TDIC) for their project at Sir Baniyas Islands. Was involved with the infrastructure work of the ANANTARA hotel and TDIC staff accommodation which comprised of Civil, Electrical and Fire line networks including the laying of HDPE lines and their joining.

Was involved with the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports and the preparation of electrical layout diagrams for the connection to the distribution boards and to the SMDBs.

Worked as an Assistant Engineer at Kerala State Electricity Board (K.S.E.B) for a period of one year at Madakkathara 400kv Sub station. I was involved at the control room monitoring and the maintenance of the substation equipments including the 400/220kv transformers and the various circuit breakers and isolators in the substation.

The control room monitoring involved the checking up of the various relays and the issuing of the “permit to work” in the lines in the event of a fault. The substation linked to a total of 26 feeders encompassing the central and a little of the northern belt of kerala

Worked as Electrical Engineer in an electrical consultancy firm in Cochin, India by the name of Manoj Electrical Associates for one and a half years, (Oct 2007-Sept 2009)

I have designed various Electrical Layouts in AUTOCAD for homes and also drawn Electrical circuits that are required to establish an Electric system. I was also responsible for Installation and Maintenance works on these functions and did round-the-clock check up on the well-functioning of these systems.

TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

1. AUTOCAD

3-Dimensional Drawings of Electrical Layouts. These layouts mainly consisted of Villas and Homes with their pictographical representation of various circuit systems and Distribution Boards.

2. ISA-CIAT certified PLC TRAINING

Undergone a certification for operating PLC’s, SCADA, MMI’s and to draft LADDER PROGRAMS in PUNE for a period of 30 days organized by the ISA (The Instrumentation, Systems & Automation Society). Course comprised mainly of designing various programmable logic circuits and introduction to various PLC devices like Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi. This course was done in the sixth semester of my graduation which helped immensely in my seminar and project work.

TRAININGS UNDERGONE

Undergone Training at Malankara SHEP, a power generation plant (3x3.5 MW) and acquired knowledge on Generators used, Protection and Control System involved. Acquired knowledge on the S-type Tubular Kaplan Turbine, 3.5 MW Generator and the PLC used in the power station and the 66kv Switchyard.

Undergone one-week Training in Kozhikode diesel power project (8 x 16MW) under the guidance of the Chief Engineer who introduced us to the various safety and precautionary measures applied.

EXTRA CURRICULAR INTERESTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

Participated in a DEBATE Competition and presented a Paper on my seminar topic which was the use of PLC’s in substations in the VIDYUTH competition conducted by the electrical dept. in VIDYA College of Engineering, Thrissur.

The paper mainly dealt with the Tap-changing systems involved in the substations and the pivotal role which PLC’s had to play.It was concerned with the evolving new generation control systems when Programmable Logic Controllers(plc) could co-ordinate the working of other systems within a substation
