Career Objective:

A Biotechnology student keen to explore the field of Biotechnology and fields related to it. Meticulous with a streak of leadership. Keen to learn the eccentric interaction between nature and biology to participate and undertake research activities in the aforementioned fields. Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team and can deal with work pressures competently.

Research Experience (Intern) - National Centre for Cell Science (Jan 2011 to June 2011):

M.Sc. Project:

Worked on the project entitled “Qualitative Analysis of Probiotic Capsules Available in India” at NCCS under the guidance of Dr.Yogesh Shouche, Pune, India. Objectives are achieved with the following two approaches:

Culture - Dependent approach -: Culture Independent Approach involved:

• Growing Microorganisms in different growth media

• Polymerase chain reaction

• PCR amplification of 16S rRNA gene using universal primers for bacteria

• Analyzing the total microbial content using bioinformatic tools.

Culture - Independent approach -: Involved:

• Isolation of bacterial DNA

• PCR amplification of 16S rRNA gene using universal primers for bacteria

• Preparation of 16S rRNA gene library and sequencing of 16S rRNA gene library clones

• Analyzing the total microbial content using bioinformatic tools.

Research Assistance:

Was responsible for Assistance in various ongoing research activities with expertise in following technical skills

• Gene cloning methods such as DNA isolation, PCR, restriction digestion, ligation and transformation (library construction).

• Sequencing PCR

• Bioassay, Microbiological methods.

• Cell culture

• Basic Bioinformatics tools
