Gage Room Supervisor

Manage the day-to-day activities of the Tool Layout Inspectors during three shifts of operation at the Engine Works facility. Assure that all gages and torque tools in the facility are properly calibrated and maintained. Manage the gage and torque tool reports and metrics for the factory.

• Generate gage and torque calibration work schedules using the SAP database.

• Prioritize the calibration schedule with Department Supervisors, trades groups, engineers, and production personnel to ensure all calibrations are completed in a timely fashion.

• Oversee Zero Delinquency Gage Policy, ensuring 100% of all gages and torque tools are calibrated by due dates.

• Interface with external contractors sending equipment out for calibration or bring them on-site to perform calibrations. Ensures external contractors comply with company policies and procedures, adhere to company standards, and evaluate external contractors for ISO compliance.

• Developed procedure to track external vendors for ISO compliance.

• Responsible for creating Q-note documentation and communicating the out of tolerance condition/ abnormal function of gages or torque tools to the operations teams.

• Coordinate gage repair and the purchase of new gages.

• Prepare and track Purchase Requisitions and External Shipping Orders.

• Ensure operators are properly trained through the implementation of training programs.

• Schedule the gage room work force, evaluate and determine necessary overtime based on work demand/vacation schedules.

• Drive focus on safety as an integral part of the teams day-to-day awareness through training.

• Manage improvement projects including cost reduction, system improvements, analysis of new instruments, and methods development.

• Responsible for maintaining all gage and torque tool SAP records. This includes updating records, changing maintenance plan schedules, adding and deleting equipment, and leading equipment inventories of departments to verify correct records.

• Development of calibration work instructions for cross training employees and ISO 17025-2005 compliance.

• Set up and maintain Gage and Torque Calibration SharePoint site for increased communication and information sharing within in the team.

• Represent Gage Lab during audits of gages and torque tools (regulatory and customer).
