Patient Records
Present position responsibilities require me to scan patient medical records for dental billing purposes. I am responsible for scanning patient medical histories, treatment records, periodontal charting, and outside referrals using a Fujitsu scanner. I also scan patient X-rays using an Epson scanner and X-ray Vision scanner. I scan from 60-80 patient charts a day. Use of CPS program system.
PAST POSITIONS:
Insurance Billing- Duties included but were not limited to ensuring all necessary documentation is available to submit dental claims, authorizations, and referrals to carriers. Further duties included running daily authorizations, special referral lists/Periodontic referrals, and verifying accuracy of all information and services on claim forms. Other duties related to billing included monitoring and following up on pre-authorized services that have been started and need completion or delivery. Also responsible for running, printing and reviewing unbilled transactions. The use of QSI, NEA, EXCEL, and Microsoft Word.
Plan Coordinator- Duties included insuring all plans, insurance information and fee schedules are entered and maintained. Charged with maintaining current dentist, and specialist credentials. Confirming all dentist and specialist in current HMO and PPO plans that the Business participates in.
Insurance Tracer- Duties included confirming all dental claims are paid in a timely manner. Duties also entailed reviewing, sorting and processing of insurance correspondence. The monitoring of claim activity for timely payment using applicable computer print outs. Aggressively contacts insurance company’s representatives by telephone in obtaining financial compensation for services rendered. Prints and reviews tracer letters, re-submits claims, audits, and adjusts accounts as necessary. Forwards any and all information to collections department.
Receptionist- Responsible for using comprehensive communication and written skills. Greets patients/parents upon check-in for appointments, verify/update all patient/account demographic data on patient’s charts and in the computer system. Make sure charts are properly prepared and signed (including medical history and alerts). Accept over the counter payments, and balance the payment log at the end of the day. Insures charts and schedules are ready for the preceding day. Schedule patient appointments.
