1-SAE (NDIA) Ltd. NEW Delhi

Since 1988 to 1997, I worked with SAE, (INDIA) Ltd. New Delhi, an RPG group of company Engaged in Design, Fabrication & Erection of Transmission Line, Microwave Tower & Substation Structures as Sr. Executive Engineer in the Design Department. Job Profile includes:

a)Design of Towers ( Both vertical & Horizontal Configuration ) from 33 KV to 800 KV Manually as well as with the help of In House Developed Software based on six degrees of freedom Stiffness Matrix in Fortran Language.

b)Special Structures of Railway crossing, River crossing.

c)Foundation design, Tower spotting, Sag template curve preparation.

d)Proto inspection & Tower testing.

e)Coordinating with Project Department.

During this period I handled following projects Successfully.

f)Bhira-Dharavi 220KV D/C& M/C Line, Work of TATA at Bombay.

g)400KV D/C Vindhayachal- Jabalpur Line of Power Grid Co. India Ltd.

h)33KV D/C Manipur Project.

i)220KV D/C Line of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

j)I also have completed many pre-bid projects successfully.

2- EXPOSURE TO DIFFERENT SOFTWARES

(a) I was using an In house developed software named 6D computer design package for tower design. The above 6D CAD package was developed on DIGITAL’S VAX/VMS operating system platform. This software was specially developed for the design of four-legged self-supporting transmission line towers. This package was based on THREE-DIMENSIONAL INDETERMINATE STIFFNESS ANALYSIS.

(b) I was using software based on finite elements for design of foundations On VAX –

VMS operating system.

(c) I was using software WORD STAR V-6 for preparing our technical documents On

PC DOS-6 Operating system.

(d) I have used LOTUS 123 for all arithmetic calculation on PC DOS-6 operating system

2- HIDADA Ltd. ( 1997-2007)

Since 1997 to 2007 , I worked with HIDADA Ltd. At JEDDAH a company Engaged in Design, Fabrication & Erection of Transmission Line , Microwave Tower, steel poles & Sub station Structures as Sr . Design Engineer in the Design Department Job Profile includes:

a) I also worked as acting engineering manager for 1.5 years , during that period five design engineers & ten drafts man were reporting to me and I coordinated with other deptt also successfully.

aa)Design of Towers (Both vertical Horizontal Configuration ) from 33KV to 380 KV.

bb)Special structure of River crossing.

c)Tower spotting.

d)Proto Inspection & Tower Testing.

e)Coordinating with Propjet Execution department.

Tower & pole project completed in Hidada ( PLS-CADD ,TOWER/S-POLE V 10.14 )

I handled following Projects in Hidada Successfully

a)380 KV WADI-JALIL project. In this project IEC 826 was followed. In this project all the eight towers designed by me . I co-ordinated with the client & consultant to get the design approval . All the detailing work performed under my supervision , towers were proto assembled and out of which seven towers has been successfully tested. For this project I have designed one 380kv d/c 90m height special crossing tower, which have been erected in MAKKAH. The complete project was handled by me, I also visited construction site many times & handled site problem successfully.

b)110 KV WADI-JALIL project. In this project all the three towers designed by me, got approved ,proto assembled & all towers have been successfully tested. All the three towers have been tested successfully at BABTAIN TESTING BED IN RIYADH .

During the execution of the above project excellent relation ship with the client were maintained.

C) 380 KV SHOAIBA PHASE-I project. In this project specification of SEC-WOA specification was followed which involves the factor of safety unlike IEC 826 . In this project five towers were designed , complete connection details were prepared checked. I designed all the five tower & all have been approved. The suspension tower and all angle tower have been tested successfully. I have also designed two 380 kv

substation gantries and one 120m special tower which is one of the highest 380 kv

tower in KSA. The above tower have been erected in shoaiba

We coordinated with clients & all site problems ,handled successfully.

D) 380 KV d/c MAKKAH –TAIF project. In this project seven towers were required to be designed.

I designed all seven towers & all have been approved. The suspension tower

and all angle towers have been tested successfully at LECCO testing station.. I have also designed one 380 kv 130 m special tower ( one of the highest tower of KSA) which is crossing OH another 380 kv D/C line. In this project two substation gantries of 380 D/C & 110 KV D/C have been designed And executed. During the execution we faced shortage of electrical clearance, which we solved very successfully.

E) 132 KV d/c YANBO-NORTH project. In this project THREE towers were required to be designed. I have designed TWO tower & all have been approved. The suspension tower

and one angle tower have been tested successfully at RIYADH testing bed .

F)220 KV Gazlan project.

G)220 KV D/C Azizya Project. This was a supply project. I was only coordinator.

H)Dealt with 380 KV Yanbu – Madina (EWR)

I) I have designed 33kv KV ARAR LINE for EC. These tower have been tested

successfully tested at Babtain test bed.

J) I worked on 110 kv moya project . There are four towers out of which two tower have been tested successfully at ABB TESTING BED in ITALI AT LECCO testing bad.

K)I have handled many tenders of international level successfully for countries like UAE, DUBAI ,KUWAIT ETHOPIA , PAKISTAN, INDONESEA ,KOSOVO, NIGIREA ,TUNISEA, JORDAN ,LYBEA SUDAN ETC from 33kv to 400 kv OVER HEAD LINES.

L) Reinforcement of 132 kv KALWA-DUGGA existing LINE with NCC Successfully.

M) Recently we have completed 500 kv D/C GAZI-BAROTHA power project for PAKISTAN. There were three towers which have been tested successfully at ABB TESTING BED in ITALI AT LECCO

O) During these periods ,i have handled many pole distribution project from 440 V to 33kv . The structure supporting the above loads is used of octagonal or dodecagonal galvanized steel poles. We have designed & tested poles for many KVS like 440 volts, 11kv, 33kv,66kv & 132 kv double circuit & single circuit lines. In parallel we are doing lighting poles also. We are developing designs, detailing the structures with complete accessories , assembling the structure prototype ,test it and manufacture in mass.

P) I have handled many designed of telecom towers like 135m high Radar tower 40M, 60M & 90M TOWERS FOR OMAN TAWOOS by using loading & design code EIA/TIA-222-F.

3- Mott Mac Ltd. UK Brighton ( 2007 – 2009 )

Work on following projects

a) 400 KV Indian queen line with national grid :- Walk over survey

and report physical status of structure, accessories and and hard wares.

b) 400 KV Coventary line with national grid :- Walk over survey

and report physical status of structure, accessories and and hard wares

c) 220 KV Tennet project refurbishment of structures , we prepared 30 model of towers and reinforced them for new loading by using PLS-CADD line design program.

4- SEC Saudi Electricity company Damam ( 2009 March – Continue )

Currently I am working in SEC dammam office as specialist engineer for design review of 380 KV OHTL related work and civil work of the sub station.

I am reviewing all civil design submittal of 380/115 KV Manifa BSP substation like soil report ,

Pier type foundation design , sub station building , cable ducts , cable tunnel , basement etc.

At the same time , I am reviewing 380 KV D/C OHTL for Maadin , 380 KV d/c OHTL Manifa.

380 KV OHTL from Qurayya to Jubail .

I am also preparing scope of work and project technical specification fro the projects and OHTL.

I have designed , checked detailing & was involved in proto assembly

1) Double circuit Gantries for 33 KV & 34.5 KV S/S.

Transmission Line Design. ( PLS-CADD V 10.14)

I have skills to develop terrain modeling , feature codes , line alignment , TIN model and triangulation brake lines, in put of complete design criteria , method 1 , method 2 , method 4 structures. I have further developed , structure spotting , sectioning ,stringing and sagging

of the above line , sag tension calculation , loads calculation , structural, design different types of clearance report and summary and structural design and modification ,Thermal ratings , galloping and PLS-CADD LITE.

DIFFERENT SOFTWARES

a) I am using a latest software named Tower , is MS-WINDOWS programs developed by POWER LINE SYSTEMS for the analysis and design of transmission and communication structures. TOWER has option to check designs according to the ASCE and EIA standards. TOWER has the ability to analyze a structure linearly or non-linearly. TOWER can be used as a line design programs in conjunction with PLS_CADD to produce minimum cost & optimum spotting.

b) I am using SAG10-V3 for all sag-tension calculations. The above software is

prepared by ALCOA. has many options to be used for calculation of sag & tensions

stringing chart , over-tensioning of conductor. Sag-ten calculation for un equal

support. Sag-tension calculation with creep & without creep.

c)I am well aware of the all latest VERSIONS of TOWER.

d)“SPOLE” We are using for the design of different types of pole. Latest SPOLE is also MS_ WINDOWS programs developed by POWER LINE SYSTEM for the analysis and design of transmission and distribution poles. SPOL checks stresses at different points for transmission and guyed poles and compares with allowable values as per ASCE –1990.

e)I am using software WINDOWS for pre-paring our technical documents on MICROSOFT WINDOWS operating system.

f)I have used EXCEL-2000for all arithmetic’s calculations on PC WINDOWS operating system.

SITE EXPERIENCE & DEALING WITH CLIENT

I am routinely handling site problems . I am well aware of site tower erection , proto assembly of tower and fitting problems , stringing & foundation laying procedures. . I have lot of experience of site inspection & dealing with site problems. Whenever Site problem is there like conductor orientation , electrical clearance, circuit orientation ,member fouling Or any other problem I am ready to move with the consultt, contractor. I am dealing with client & contractor on regular basis. I feel great satisfaction By solving the problem of customer . To work in the interest of the project is My motto. I believe , if project is successfully completed within time, the fabricator contractor & client all will be in win -win situation, That will provide us long term association with the customer.

One and half year , I worked as an acting engineering manager in Hidada.

The five design engineer & ten drafts man were reporting to me & five OHTL

Projects were running at a time . I was taking care work schedule , tower testing meetings with customer & site problems .
