Role included leading a team of shared resources to manage internal SAP systems & enhance the offering to the SAP community. We processed around 1100 problem/maintenance/support/enhancement tickets in a month along with planned developments, upgrades of SAP systems in various capacities, supporting the IDC wide SAP trainings within the Basis scope, etc.

Plan, manage & support installations of various SAP products like ECC, SRM, SCM, BI, CRM, ESS/MSS, Solution Manager, xSOP, EP.

Manage escalations.

Design & implement the maintenance & enhancement strategy of the landscape.

Plan, manage & support the upgrades of Support Packages, Kernels, Database patches.

Provide support to the various SAP trainings conducted IDC wide.

Help resolve time sensitive issues faced by the client team in the areas of Enterprise Portal, xRPM, cProjects, ECC, package deployments.

Operating System Administration: Configuring SuSE Linux for SAP software installations. Configuring environment variables, creating filesystems, various mount points, mounting the filesystem using YAST utility from SuSE, creating OS users, groups, authorizations, etc.

• Security Administration: Creation and maintaining user master records, creation of activity groups/roles, authorization objects and authorizations, authorization profiles etc. and assigned to users, using SU53 and system trace to optimize authorization checks.

• General Administration: Maintain SAP Instances - work process overview, background jobs, system profiles, ABAP dumps, checking Lock entries, System Logs, User Overview, Update termination analysis.

• Database Monitoring: Using SAPDBA for solving database related problems like tablespace changes, extent changes. Extending tablespaces, creating / adding data files, analyzing extents of table and indices etc.

• Background Jobs Administration: Pushing scheduled batch jobs out of the maintenance window, re-scheduling & releasing them in another window to ensure that they generate & update the exact data.
