RE: Resume for Meaghan Doak
To Whom This May Concern:
Please find attached a copy of my resume for a potential graphic design position with your company.
I can offer the enthusiasm and dedication it takes to deliver the best in a graphic designer. I have been a graphic designer since my freshman year in high school. Attending Harford Technical High School in Harford County allowed me the experience and freedom to gain knowledge to excel me to York College of Pennsylvania where I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree; majoring in graphic design with a minor in photography. While attending Harford Technical High School, I designed the 2008 yearbook cover, many spreads, and supervised as the co-editor. During my time at HTHS I learned how to handle the printing presses by completing many projects sent to our department from local businesses, none profit organizations, and the Harford County School system.
I have become an expert in Adobe Creative Suite 5, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash. My strengths in typography led me to create a font that was published in the book “Typefontbat”, printed and published in Japan. Photography became one of my main interests; which pushed me into my minor degree at York College, photography. I have become well versed in film and digital photography from developing, editing and publishing.
One of my requirements for my degree was to participate in an internship. My internship during the summer of 2011 was with Ripken Baseball. My position at Ripken Baseball was in the marketing and communication departments. I was responsible for daily procedures, making deadlines on time and assistanting supervisors. I worked with other departments through Ripken Baseball and handled their design and marketing needs.
Currently, I am working for IWIF, Injured Workers Insurance Fund, in their communications department. I have managed marketing events, taken photos for these events, designed logos, posters, flyers, advertisements for programs, invitations, 16-page newsletters, generated e-mail banners and invintations, and many other publications. My duties for this job were to help maintain the daily design projects, maintain the SERMA newsletter, Kid’s Chance, and Facebook and Twitter posts, along with many other small projects.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to share my talents and a chance to learn even more through your current open position with your company.
