ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
Master of Science Industrial Engineering Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX
Specialization: Optimization; GPA: 3.64 Graduation: May 2012
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering University, of Mumbai, India
GPA: 3.66 Graduation: May 2009
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Quality Engineer, Hi-Tech Radiators, Mumbai, India. 2009- 2010
• Responsible for normal running, maintenance activities.
• Formulation, implementation of SOP through workforce training and periodic audits for ensuring reliable production processes.
• Responsible for use of SPC technique to check tolerance level.
• Responsible for implementing remedial measures and monitoring of the identified system flaws.
• Responsible for ensuring proper safety standards, Quality standards ISO 9001.
• Implemented Lean techniques like 5S, Kaizen, Poke yoke.
• Implemented Value Stream charts to reduce non-value-creating activities. It helped in identify and eliminate waste, thereby streamlining work processes, cutting lead times, reducing costs and increasing quality by a significant amount.
• Intermediate understanding of all elements of supply chain: procurement, Inventory Control, receiving, fulfillment, transportation and returns.
• Mobilizing resources like workforce, raw material and plant capacities for targeted production.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Graduate
Design of a firm: (Operation management Project) Jan 2011- May 2011
• Strategic design of the Firm and its product
• Strategic quality design and management using statistical process control (Pareto, X-bar, R-bar and C-Charts), lean six-sigma, Kaizen.
• Resource planning was done using demand and supply forecasting.
• Strategic design/management of the Internal processes required to produce/deliver the product. APQP and PPAP techniques were used.
• Strategic design/management of the external processes required to deliver the product, QFD and Balanced Scorecard techniques were used in this process.
• Strategic design/management of inventory and forecasting (Project planning and scheduling) was done using WBS & Gantt chart (MS Project),
• Performed cost benefit and breakeven analysis.
• Supply chain strategies included vertical integration and controlling critical chain.
• Design of the startup project.
Simulation of operation analysis (Arena simulation software): Jan 2011- May 2011
• Developed system features and formulated models to simulate a target-level approach to inventory control and evaluate tradeoffs and cost benefit analysis between alternatives.
Safety Engineering Aug 2011 –Dec 2011
• Evaluated several products were focusing on safety issues and usability.
• Developed QFD - House of Quality (HOQ) charts
• Performed FMEA, FTA, What-If analysis and root cause analysis.
