The effort was initiated by the Oconee County Economic Development Commission and Tri-County Technical College. I am responsible for mentoring clients in the area of product and process development. I directed all shift operations in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Production Control, and Quality output for a 1.5 million square foot automotive based assembly facility with a yearly operating budget of $250 million. I directed a multi-level staff of 20 managers, 4 Process Engineers and 450 hourly employees. Responsible for all manufacturing and business metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale)

Plant Quality and Product Engineering Manager
I was directly responsible for all product and process quality control systems development and implementation for Body, Paint, and General Assembly. I led Safety and Emissions Compliance, QS9000/14001 sustainment, as well as departmental metrics for Safety, Delivery, Cost and Morale) for a three shift, 3.2 million square foot facility with separate body, paint, and assembly shops - building five different body styles in line sequence.
I directed a three shift Quality Operation. I developed and led a management team of 25 salaried quality/process engineers and 240 bargaining unit inspectors.

I created a standard data collection and reporting format for six vehicle assembly plants. I developed a standard Zone Control containment and corrective action process based on Lean Manufacturing principles. I trained plant quality staffs and assisted in implementation and support. The development process required consensus of Senior Corporate Management and the support of local management and union leadership at all facilities.

The position required functional knowledge of dimensional, weld, and surface control to coordinate successful, timely build programs in multiple assembly facilities.

I developed an approval process with corporate manufacturing and engineering organizations as well as external tool suppliers to assure timely transfer of quality products to production stamping and assembly facilities.
