Conference Organizer, CRU Group UK, September 2010 – January 2011
My main duties included handling the registrations for the various conferences, dealing with delegate queries, record incoming payments and create visa/invitation letters for delegates.
Helped coordinate international shipments, create and organize name badges.
Liaised with conference speakers, arranged their hotel/travel accommodation if necessary, receive their presentations/papers for pre-conference print books.
Researched potentials hotels, vendors, and A/V companies for future conferences.
Event Intern, Pratham UK, February 2010 – May 2010
Managed their database (Salesforce).
Helped organized the company’s financial statements in preparation for their upcoming audit.
I received and managed the registrations for an upcoming event. I was also handling payment and donations along with sending receipts and thank you notes.
Provided onsite support to various events, mainly setting up the venue and working the registration table.
Office Assistant, Champlain Valley Exposition USA, June 2008 – September 2009
Provided office support by answering phones, placing supply orders and assisting in bulk mailings.
Coordinated the winter car storage program, group bus tours and mascots for our annual kid’s day parade.
Assisted the Sales and Marketing department with coordinated 200 concessionaires during the 10 day Fair. I sent out contracts and received applications. I helped managed all concessionaries by coordinating/arranging insurance, electrical, camping, tickets and other various requests/needs. I also tracked payments and created welcome packets. During the event I checked in all concessionaires, tracked their daily sales and was their first point of contact for any problems or questions.
Travel and Conference Intern, National Life Group USA, January 2008 – June 2008
Provided support for the Travel and Conference Department to a Life Insurance Company by answering the phones, creating information/welcome packets.
I tracked event/hotel and travel registrations for various events ranging in size from 10 – 1500 attendees. I communicated any needs of customers to the hotels and arranged car services for airport pickups.
Other tasks included researching hotels and various venues for future events and arranging/monitoring the use of onsite conference rooms.
Conference Coordinating Intern, University of Vermont USA, May – September 2006
Assisted in planning and facilitating a variety of events held in University facilities.
Coordinated with various campus departments, arranged audio-visual needs and handled catering logistics.
Provided onsite assistance to various events ranging in size from 20 to 200. I was continually called back to help assist at events even when my internship with the office was complete.
