I am well suited to play a number of roles within an organization.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Identifying and correcting critical discrepancy on general ledger. Updating the general ledger at Feola, recognized that large project had been erroneously classified as private contract, not commercial. Reclassified project, enabling Feola to accumulate over $10K in realized gains.
Delivering on accounting and reporting needs. Hedge fund client of SS&C had tight time restriction on investor reporting that conflicted with dates given to SS&C for their monthly closing reports. Implemented modifications within SS&C, enabling quicker preparation of information. Resolved fund managers conflict and extended contract.
Correcting inaccuracy, enabling budget reduction. Discovered that budget allocated to project at Feola Electric was high for a particular month. Researched reason and discovered a number of materials and equipment were being overstated. Corrected problem, bringing budget down considerably and opening funds for other use.
Providing details of financial reports and saving client. New client of GlobeOp Financial was not happy with the month-end financial reports being produced. I offer expertise in forecasting, budgeting, activity-based costing, due diligence, cost containment, tax preparation and information systems. My record includes resolving complex reconciliation issues, eliminating general ledger discrepancies and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
Currently in the beginning stages of my career, I have quickly built a reputation for taking on the tough assignments and seeing them through to successful completion. I am a logical thinker, with an ability to uncover, analyze and develop solutions.
When discovering a discrepancy on the general ledger of my current employer, a small electrical services company, I corrected the error and enabled the accumulation of over $10K in realized gains. For another firm, I uncovered the overvaluing of materials for a project, opening up funds for use elsewhere.
I have a BS in Accounting, minor in Computer Information Systems, from Manhattan College. My goal is to bring my expertise to an organization committed to growth, profit and excellence in ongoing daily operations.
