DETAILED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Dobbins Air Reserve Base Fire Department, Marietta, GA
GS-7 -- Lieutenant Firefighter (Department of Defense)
January 1991 – June 2011
Has served as a Lead Firefighter/Crew Chief, on an as-needed basis, for the past three (3) years to support two Station Captains and an Assistant Chief with personnel staffing. Duties included, but not limited to, crewing various firefighting equipment, crash and structural vehicles, personal protective equipment, and maintaining all required certifications.
Trainer – Developed training materials and provided training for the following:
• Point of Contact for B-shift personnel which covers all EMS monthly and quarterly training.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) instructor and
• CPR training for the Air Base populous (Adult, Children, Infant) – Trained over 60 students over a 3 year period
Daily responsibilities: Responds as a member of the airport fire fighting team to aircraft fire or emergency, structural fire, hazardous material spill, medical emergency or special rescue situation at Dobbins Air Reserve Base. Controls and extinguishes fires to protect lives and property. Operates and maintains specialized Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles and equipment, and structural fire fighting vehicles and equipment. Clean and maintain fire department buildings and grounds.
Identify and inspect Dobbins facilities for preparation of pre-fire plans and maps. Pre-fire plans were completed using departments CAD system. This included any building code violations and/or discrepancies and those were directed to the base Fire Inspector for further action.
