OBJECTIVE

• BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION:
Leave management – providing advice and guidance to managers and employees on disability, personal, industrial, pregnancy, maternity/paternity, leaves relative to pay, benefits in accordance with company policy and laws; well versed re: FMLA/CFRA/; SDI/CA PFL (FTDI), etc.
Hands-on benefits administration - welfare plans, sec. 125, flexible spending accounts, 401(k)'s, COBRA, and disability, including FMLA, CA PFL, CFRA.
Duties include - administering plans to supervising a staff of eight benefits administrators.
Resolved difficult and complex benefits issues.
Mediated between employee and carriers.
Processed premium payments; enrolled employees and verified coverages; conducted benefits orientation weekly in both group situations and individually as necessary.
Administered COBRA, 401(k), and flexible spending accounts.
Worked closely with TPA's when these programs were outsourced.
Tested changes to benefits plans with payroll systems.
• STAFFING & RECRUITMENT:
Set up and managed recruitment/staffing program
Created database system to track and monitor recruits according to staffing requirements.
Supervised a staff of two.
• INTERNATIONAL:
Supervised Visa Specialists and support staff.
Established and maintained beneficial relations with embassy/consulate staffs, government agencies and other outside organizations.
Responsible for annual expenditures of $100,000+.
Developed and implemented international processing procedures and training. Provided counseling for individual/family overseas assignments.
