SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
WELDING
- Experienced with Oxy-acetylene (OAW), Shielded metal (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc (GTAW)(TIG), Gas metal arc (GMAW)(MIG), and Flux core arc (FCAW) welding
- Able to interpret welding process specifications, blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, layout patterns, and make shop sketches
- Some experience with hydraulics and electrical systems
- Adept at preparing jigs or set-ups for welding
- Capable of maintenance welding repair and overhauling equipment
- Some experience working with exotic metals such as cast-iron, aluminum, brass, copper, armored steel, stainless steel, and hard surfacing.
PIPE FITTING
- Pipe fabrication and installation at gas and power plants, diamond mines, and oil fields
- Pipe fitting from blueprints and PNIBs
- Testing and weld mapping
OPERATING
- Manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Air Arc Gouging
- Most shop equipment and over head cranes
- Hoisting and lifting equipment
- Have experience operating heavy equipment
GENERAL
- Current Canadian passport
- Class 5 drivers license
- Speak, read, and write English
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Held positions of lead hand and foreman
- Knowledgeable of rigging
- Structural steel fabrication and installation at lumber and pulp mills, and bridges
- Well motivated and able to work alone or with others
- Always willing to learn something new and challenging
