These additional duties include: Manage a yearly Maritime budget of $100,000 used to host visiting National and International Tall Ships and Military Vessels, host protocol events for visiting vessels, and plan water events. Supervise teams of ~50 volunteers who assist with following federal, state, and local protocol for waterways. Act as liaison for visiting national and international naval and civilian vessels. Coordinate logistics for ship docking plans, and public relations. Organize and manage committees made up of foreign attaches, US Military and Government personnel and local business owners, who help plan water events, host visiting vessels, set regulations for participants and monitor compliance with national, state and local laws.
