EXPERIENCE
Calloway Labs, Woburn, MA
Method Development Specialist, March 2010 – Present
• Developed an amphetamine extraction and method which reduced the run time from 17 minutes to three minutes per sample and eliminated the generation of halogenated waste.
• Programmed a method to automate pipetting and perform the correct dilution factor based on the screening result from the LIMS system
• Optimized 6 other assays’ extraction and instrument method reducing reagent costs and shortening the run time per sample by at least 30 percent.
• Developed one of the first methods in the country to detect metabolites of JWH 018 and 073 in urine.
• Developed an extraction and analytical method to test for 8 classes of drugs in saliva.
Chemist, March 2007 –March 2010
• Run and maintain an Olympus 5400
• Monitor chemical inventory and assist in ordering reagents
• Prepare and validate in-house reagents
• Perform solid phase and liquid/liquid extractions
• Trained new hire chemists in SPE extractions and data analysis
• Prepare calibrator and QC and linearity materials
• Analyze and review GC/MS, LDTD/MS/MS and LC/MS/MS data
• Keep all 21 GC/MS instruments maintained and functional
• Perform ELISA testing
• Developed a heroin metabolite assay which reduced the run time from 15 minutes to 7 minutes and increased the linearity of the assay from 40 to 640 ng/mL
• Validate/cross-validate new instruments
• Secretary of the safety committee and helped the company become the first toxicology lab to be both Joint commission and CAP accredited
