Analyzed LAHIDD and vital records (birth and death) data, for the State of Louisiana to prepare epidemiological reports using SPSS/SAS Enterprise Guide and excel or excess; and pursued quality check of the database for errors, duplicate records etc. Send these reports to the respective facility after encrypting the sensitive information (e.g. SSN, Medical Record Number etc.) using encryption software as needed. Responded to LAHIDD requests from government agencies, community organizations, media, university researchers, etc. by personally researching or by providing information on research sources. Linked LAHIDD data with other Louisiana data bases to accommodate requests. Forwarded the outstanding data requests to the appropriate review panel members for final approval. Answered the telephone calls received from different facilities and organizations regarding LAHIDD project and/ data request and/ or reports. Attended the staff meetings and coordinate administrative procedures for revisions of data requests.

Field Medical Officer in ‘Arsenic Mitigation Team’
Dhaka Community Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Worked with a team of 30 doctors in the field to identify and treat patients affected with arsenic poisoning after drinking tube-well water. Managed and coordinated the team work. Visited villages door-to-door to determine those people drinking from contaminated tube-wells. Screened and evaluated them to identify those affected by arsenic. Treated the symptoms and monitored for patient follow-up.
