Personal Profile:

I am a keen and enthusiastic individual, willing to put in hard work to get a job completed. Socially I am out-going and work well with others. I am adventurous and well travelled having worked in New York as a high ropes course facilitator/instructor in a cross-cultural team, and after employment spending two months traveling around the USA. I also travelled around South East Asia in the summer of 2011, and felt that I developed my independence and learnt a lot about culture within work and travel.

I have completed voluntary work on a number of occasions; an example of this would be the time I worked for Oxfam at a music festival in the Isle of Wight. I have a passion for music and have played the guitar since the age of seven.

I have also worked voluntarily throughout college and university running sports events and coaching sessions with disabled and able-bodied participants. In my spare time I like to compete in hockey, and have currently played for the University BUCS 1st team. I am very dedicated to my sport and in my experience I have coached and instructed a number of sports, which has developed my team building and motivational skills.

The degree has developed my knowledge within; exercise physiology, sport psychology, sport development, business management, coaching practice, event planning, sport marketing, e-marketing, the history and culture of sport and academic research.

Work Placement

The work placement year was completed as part of my university course. I worked at Nizels Golf and Country Club in the Sales and Marketing department as a Sales Advisor. The role included communicating efficiently with prospects face to face taking body language into consideration, and telephone communication. I had to arrange meetings and take tours of the facilities, whilst using selling techniques learnt within sales training. Within the experience I learnt how to improve sales and profits whilst working towards targets and deadlines.

As well as working in sales I also had to focus on marketing strategies creating marketing ideas to generate leads and awareness.
