Support for Quality Assurance and Control. Oversight of incoming inspection, manufacturing process and control, and vendor supervision. Validation and verification of GDP and GMP. Analysis of injection-molded parts using Part Advisor plastic flow analysis tool.
Contract Mechanical Engineer (Client: CyTerra Corporation) 2005-2006
Mechanical design of defense and homeland security devices and equipment. Ensured products met performance, schedule and cost goals through empirical and theoretical testing. Specified hardware, raw materials, fasteners and assembly methods. Managed group of 5 engineer and 3 technicians. Packaged electronic components for magnetic, RF and EMI emissions compliance, using cast metal housings, conductive plastic injection-molded parts and sealing techniques.
Contract Program Manager (Client: Invivo Corporation) 2004
Sustaining Engineering Program Management for Medical Devices Manufacturer. Coordinated efforts of a 5-member team for sustaining product viability during life cycle. Set direction, managed and defined resource needs, schedules and performance expectations. Conducted searches for equivalent replacement components to replace obsolete parts, ensuring continued production support.

Designed components for use on motorcycles; selected material for motorcycle components; selected and verified assembly methods and equipment. Prepared manufacturable CAD models from styled surface models. Performed DFMEA analysis for several component systems.
Principal Engineer 1991-2002
Created product designs for medical devices and equipment, ranging from implantable catheters and stints to pumps and separation centrifuges. Served as project manager of reverse engineering department project teams of 5-15 personnel. Applied reverse engineering techniques for non-destructive prototype measurements and transfer into an electronic database. Optimized rapid prototyping set-up and guidelines to ensure error-free prototyping for both in-house and external rapid-prototyping clients. Set-up and finished models for SLA, SLS, FDM, LOM and 3-D printing rapid prototype technologies. Extensive plastic part and assembly design and development using engineering-grade medical plastics, both radio-opaque and transparent.

Designed and developed telecommunications equipment. Provided training in basic telephony to ensure accuracy in design. Produced a unique wiring harness for a custom application in Lima, Ohio. Streamlined manufacturing methods and assembly processes through training in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA).
Project Engineer 1987-1988
Designed and developed two product lines: do-it-yourself outdoor furniture and lawn-care equipment. Reduced shelf space requirements and part count 20% with the design of a do-it-yourself outdoor furniture product line. Fueled an increase in customer satisfaction and a 20%-30% reduction in returned inventory by resolving material failures through the heat-treating of fasteners.

Validated manufacturing methods and qualified Far East vendors for new product assembly.
