Co-ordinate with customers to meet communications requirements, install CAT 5/6 and SM/MM fiber, troubleshoot IP, digital, and analog phones, assist in the implementation and moves of existing data and telephone, cable verifications/inspections, and diagnose critical circuits.

Newport News, VA, Customer service associate - Lowes Home Improvement Jan 2012 – April 2012

Responsibilities in the lumber department were to provide customer service, advise on product capabilities, stock floor using power equipment such as forklifts, and load bulk items into customer vehicles.

Balad, Iraq – SL-100 Central Office Lead, Mutual Telecom Services (MTS) Jan 2011 – Oct 2011

Maintained and monitored 40 T1 circuits and 4,000 lines for Army communications; worked with DISA to restore circuits, install and test new circuits, and monitor T1 equipment.

• Restored Meridian 1 due to power failure in hospital. Optera equipment was also returned to service.

• Created telephone survey that provided phone type, user info, and location. 1,200 unused lines were also found and reclaimed to for future use. Project last for 3 months until completion.

• Worked with VTC team for installs and troubleshooting of remote equipment.

Newport News, VA – Telecom Install, Mutual Telecom Services (MTS) Mar 2010 – Dec2010

Duties included installing various communications equipment to support customer needs and functionality. Assisted with the expansion of 5k line expansion - added 6 LCME, 2 MCTM, 1 MCAM cabinet, ran associated wires and power cables to MCAM. Installed hardware and racks for AS5300 equipment.

Camp Arifjan, Kuwait – SL-100 Site Lead, Mutual Telecom Services (MTS) Oct 2007 – Feb 2010

Duties include supervising 4 technicians, maintain operations for the regional multi-function SL-100, send weekly/monthly reports, create polices for communications support, records update, and project management. Worked with DISA weekly for circuit moves, changes, and updates.

• Restored DCME equipment by changing cards to correct location to allow redundancy.

• Tested and loaded Peripheral Modules for software upgrade from SL17 thru SE09

• Wired and channel tested over 130 T1s for DSN networks throughout Middle East.

• Restored SL-100 from outage due to a building leak in 2008. All equipment was turned off and replaced $120k worth in damage circuit packs. Services fully online within 24 hours.

• Worked with Outside Plant team to maintain/restore 8,200 local lines.

• Spent 200+ man-hours working with ETAS on critical outages and failures.

• VTC subject matter expert. Installed BRI, PRI, and T1 capable Polycom VTCs for customers. Troubleshot inoperable VTC equipment and configured settings. Provided T1 backbone support to the Mid-East VTC hub.

Al Udeid Air Force Base, Qatar – SL-100 Central Office Technician, Air Force Jul 2003 – Dec 2003

Deployed to support transition from local tactical switches to newly installed SL-100

• Trained 4 inexperienced members on basic SL-100 switch programming

• Updated cable record data base to 100% accuracy from previous inaccurate records

• Wired over 2,500 jumpers on mainframe in preparation for cutover.

• Planned and organized relocation of 150 lines and added 35 multi-lines for new office

Barksdale Air Force Base – SL-100 Voice Networks Supervisor, Air Force Oct 2001 – Oct 2007

Primary switch technician in charge of 6 individuals to provide customer support for new telephone installs/troubles, maintained 3 remote sites, performed daily PMIs in support of 7,000 local lines and 14 T1s.

• Dedicated over 52 hours working with Emergency Technical Assistance to repair Message Switch. Replaced bad card and repaired bent pen on backplane.

• Found error on newly installed DTCI. D-channel card had a bent pen on backplane and also required a new card. Successfully installed first working T-1

• Fixed 17-year problem in DSX. Toned and traced wiring from Line Trunk Equipment (LTC) to DSX panel. Reclaimed 4 T-1 spans; saved AF $4K in estimated contractor costs.

• Inventoried and organized spare cards and switch assets worth over $16.5M. Received excellent rating on managerial evaluation.

• Developed documentation for Emergency Crash Phone network. Included pictures, wiring diagrams, cable information, and proper troubleshooting for 40 personnel.

• Engineered wiring solution for 4 high profile Video Telephone Conferences. Ran 25 Pair cable to each location, installed secure rack, installed ISDN BRI lines, and eliminated $20k annual cost for conferences. Created continuity binder for standardization.
