Project profile:

Project title: - “Early Detection Of Chilli Anthracnose by Pathogenicity, Standard Blotting and PCR Method”

Details: - This project discuss about the threat of chilli anthracnose. Anthracnose disease is a major problem in India and one of the more significant economic constraints to chilli production worldwide, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. The disease causes both pre- and post-harvest fruit decay. Chilli anthracnose usually develops under high humid conditions when rain occurs after the fruits have started to ripen with reported losses of up to 84%. Economic losses caused by the disease are mainly attributed to lower fruit quality and marketability. Pathogenicity, Standard Blotting & PCR methods were employed for rapid detection of anthracnose on chilli.

1. Bagged a certificate for Poster Presentation on “in-vitro fertilization” in intercollegiate poster presentation competition “Perspective’10- Biotechnology in 2010 and beyond” in January 2010.

2. Bagged a certificate for Paper Presentation on nano-pillars in “BIO-CHEMCON 2010 National conference on Emerging trends in Chemical engineering and Biotechnology” in December 2010.

3. Bagged a certificate for Paper Presentation on “Species specific detection of Chilli Anthracnose” in National Conference on “Advances in Life Sciences for Sustainable Rural Development – ALSSRD – 2011” in October 2011.
